Will check records tomorrow. How do you like this, for a change in pace? This is how real men in California take home buck they shoot. I am impressed!

A real man would T-bone it, partially gut it and wear it to keep warm.

  6. I found this photo of my Dad's oldest brother in our family farm truck. 1935 Ford I believe....

I think this was taken during the war - I think those are gas tags on the windshield.

"New York circa 1916. - "Metropolitan
    Opera soprano Anna Fitziu"

I found the picture and having never heard
of Anna Fitzui before, I did a quick intenet
search and came up with a Wikipedia entry
on her (see below) This pic is unusual
because the original 1916 photo caption
    say's "The Metropolitan Opera's Soprano,
    Anna Fitzui
    ", yet according to Wikipedia,
she only played one role for the Met in
1916 and was only there a short time.

Enough opera! Back to cars! Can anybody
I.D. the year and make of the chauffeur
driven limousine in the pic? I'm just
guessing, but because of the sloping hood
and front end the and unusual 'behind the
    engine
    ' firewall-mounted radiator, I'm
    thinking maybe a Renault???? Anybody
know for sure what it is???

["In 1915 Fitziu was offered a short term
contract at the Metropolitan Opera in New
York City. She accepted, making her debut
with the company as Rosario in the world
    premiere of Enrique Granados's Goyescas
on January 28, 1916 with Giovanni Martinelli
as Fernando, Flora Perini as Pepa, Giuseppe
De Luca as Paquiro, and Gaetano Bavagnoli
conducting. It was the only role she ever
    performed at the Met,
    although she did
appear in several Sunday Night Concerts at
the house. In 1916 she was committed to the
    New Orleans Opera
    "]

    Looks like a 4-cylinder National, 1912 or 1913 maybe...

Could also be a "hodge-podge" of goodies wearing a National radiator.

Ida Wellman, of Chester, VT with a 1914 Hupmobile, rated at 16hp. If that's her in the back seat, she sure enjoyed male companionship.

Locomobile steamer in distress. Maybe they ran the boiler low (with rear end off the ground so they can pump water without using steam to move the car), or else... if this was a chain drive and it's hard to see, the chain may have come off.

I really like that May 1899 Locomobile photo. I wonder if you gave a totally restored 1899 Loco to some Joe Adverage today if he would have any more knowledge about fixing it that these early auto pioneers did?
