I posted these in the vintage pics thread, but they belong here also.

They are part of a photo album I saved from a recycle bin a few years ago. The pictures are all from the Tacoma, Washington and surrounding areas:

Uh, oh! This is why the Packard Gals always stick together as a posse. Now, this Don Juan has cornered one of them ALONE! Oh, my! Nyuk, nyuk.

Funny you should post this. About a year ago I was chasing bearings for my 1917 Maxwell at a bearing supply in Perry and the store owner mentioned someone else in town had a Maxwell. I've talked to the owner by phone and he says it is the car shown in the 1941 photo and was used to draw people into a relatives gas station. I can't wait to see what it looks like as it is unrestored but the owner does want to restore it someday. Hard to believe it survives after all this time and in the same family.

    and

A very old HAMBER, who'd be pushing 80
by now. Speaking of "Little tinkerers
    growing up to be HAMBERS
    " - and "never
    understimating the imagination and creativity
    of kids
" - when I was about the same age
as that kid in the first pic, circa 1957-'58, I
remember attempting to "build a helicopter"
by hammering oil cans into the cylinders of
the freshly bored Model A block that my
dad was rebuilding for his '31 A sedan!!!

Tire repair shop, 1920. everything runs off a giant electric motor mounted to the ceiling. wonder how many people got caught up in the band saw before people decided a guard would be a good idea

Thanks for the credit for taking the photo twin6 but that goes to Don O'Brien. My late father would of been 10 when the picture was taken in 1941, so I don't think I was around yet. LOL
