I wish this were larger to see detail. I was browsing
on eBay for old car views for sale and saw this neat
old shot. LOOKS like about 1935 or '36. The signage
mentions used cars, BUT the overhead also says,
"Ford Dealer." So I'm wondering if STANDARD AUTO
SALES was a new-Ford dealer which also sold off
"quality" trades of all makes (?). Also, anybody have
an idea WHERE this was and a better idea of the year???

It's a great pic and IS actually available at reasonable price
there on eBay, if some HAMBers would like to frame it for
their homes or garages. Not a commercial. I just thought
it would be fair to say who has the pic available (approx.
8.5" X 11). He/she is eBay seller "skylarstuff" in Canada.
Item search: "Used Car Lot Standard Auto Co. Automobiles
    1930's Photo."

  17. I think from the woman's clothing that this pic was taken later - maybe 1950s or 1960s (?) - but an interesting car anyway. That radiator core looks quite modern. The car looks to have a vertical single cylinder engine which would distinguish it from a lot of high wheelers that had horizontal engines.

Thanks, LGS, I took it for period since the woman's outfit didn't help me. I'll delete the pic to keep the thread pure. Please delete your post showing the pic, and we're cool. THANKS again!

The car, BTW, is a 1906 Reliable Dayton.

Awesome. Alliance member Tommy posted this contraption a long while back.

  21. How do I delete it?

Hmmmm! Apparently, when you quote another person's post, you can't edit. Maybe Twin-6 has a clue.

But, it's not the worst "time-warp" error to be made on this otherwise clean thread. Let's wait & see what he thinks. Thanks again, man.
