Alfred Burdick and his son, George, were a part of the Lynn, Clark County, Wisconsin community during its transition from a pioneer settlement to modern times. They are pictured above in their "new fangled" automobile in front of their log cabin home.

:D Alternate Caption: "Burt quickly discovered
that his snazzy new roadster was a real 'babe-magnet',
allowing him to pick up just about any hot chick
he desired. In fact, most of them were so
enthralled with it - and now with him, for having
it too(!) - that he could often even date up to three
    of them at once!!!!

Strange headlights on the front fenders, I'm guessing it is a Daniels around 1920

No, but good guess, considering the radiator shell shape. Hint, it had a Weideley V-12 out of Indianapolis. The car was manufacturered in San Francisco.

The Biddle Automobile was made by the Biddle Automobile Co of Philadelphia. Biddle and Smart Carriage Co., Amedsbury, Ma. were body makers from 1902-1930 and Hudson was their main customer from 1909-1930. My web site www.earlyamericanautomobiles.com is the largest on the internet for automobiles from 1861-1929. Page 1916-1918 will show a Biddle automobile. My page, Automobiles bodies built in Amesbury, will show the twenty-eight companies that built bodies in Amesbury with their histories and car bodies that they made. There are over 3500 photos of cars and 700 advertisements showing pictures of the cars from 1895 to 1923. Also my web site www.amesburycity.com has additional information that is helpful. These web sites are strictly designed for research and anything can be copied and used.

I was surprised to see the Buick bugs made it that far south but on following the link see it's a mistake "A 1912 Buick Model 28 was the first car to travel across South America, driven from Buenos Aires, Argentina, over the Andes to Santiago, Chile, in 1914"

Still some amazing stuff as ever Mr Fire.

Oh, of course it's a Heine-Velox, the 3/4 rear view in the Standard Catalog is not so graceful looking.

Right on, Bob, I KNEW that you knew:cool:; but with only about five made, it's a make we don't SEE often, so ya kind of have to step back and go "HMMMM!" for a while.

You are surely RIGHT about the looks, though. As oppulent and costly as these were, ol' Gustav Heine seems to have put all the dough into state-of-the art electricals & tech, one of the finest engines available, and a finely appointed interior. Not much of the budget seems to have gone for STYLE, eh? Even for '21, I think they're almost, er, uh, dumpy looking. I actually feel badly for having to say that! :p

I'd still give my eye teeth to see a photo of one of the SMALL handful of cars Heine made from 1904 to 1909 in San Francisco. But it seems that absolutely NO pix were taken, in spite of some historical significance. :( Gustav actually loaned his OWN car to the military who were hauling the wounded and dead during the 1906 earthquake.

I can't even offer a good guess what his early cars looked like. But MAYBE there's a hint in what he sold as one of SanFran's first auto dealers. He had the FIRST Ford franchise, and he also sold Blomstrom's classy Queen automobiles. Lot of diff between a Ford and a Queen, eh?

Royal, GREAT that you've joined the HAMB! WELCOME! :D And you picked the right thread! ONLY photos taken BEFORE WWII. IMO, you should use the text of your first post there to flesh out your HAMB profile. I hope lots of folks will go and visit your site(s), www.earlyamericanautomobiles.com. I wish I had a dollar for every hour I've spent there! Folks, LITERALLY thousands of photos and ads, plus articles -- basically all 1930 and earlier! :)

And speaking of the so-so styling on the rare Heine-Velox, HERE's a nicely styled 1917 Biddle, the make Royal Feltner
mentioned. Note the Mercedes-like radiator, which Biddles carried all the way through their run, from 1917 through 1921.
