Interesting to see Hanna Reitsch mentioned. Despite what you might think of her National Socialist politics she was a very skilful and brave pilot. She was one of the few people ever to 'fly' a V-1 and land it safely!
A Fieseler Fi103 Reichenberg piloted V-1 she flew was captured by the RAF and displayed at Farnborough in 1945 at the captured aircraft show. It was rescued from the scrap heap in the 1970s and has been on display at the Lashenden Air Warfare Museum at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent ever since. It is now in Germany being full restored and will be on display there until next year when it returns to the UK.

It is the Elwell Ferry, near Kelly, NC. On NC 87 it is about 10 miles south of Elizabethtown. Here is a link you might like to look at. It is about the Elwell Ferry:

I've seen bridges done like this, but not a stretch of roadway. This being WAY after
so-called "washboard" roads of logs, what would be the background story?

Busy for a cold winter day, what?

This photo has still got me puzzled, so I AM bringing it up again. :p The contraption
here seems awfully well done to be merely a homemade job. Could this be some
sort of after-market item people could order, maybe???
