PROTOTYPE! There could be something to that! There weren't any details where I found the pic. So maybe the production "Blackhawk" didn't look just like this.

(As I said, there were, I think three bodies and two drive packages, as well. This may not be brass-lamp stuff, but it's still a pretty challenign time, when some transitional things were happening, even before the sotck market dumped!)

Ah, what a bonehead! I should have said Stutz...but I went against my better judgment :D

I don't think this is a long a WB car as you think. 120" looks about right for this car, as it is only a short-coupled 2-door sedan.

The tire was actually sold seperately. Most cars in the early 20's were sold this way, seems odd.

That is odd...but I can believe it.

"Now for just $2.53 extra, I will throw in a brand new tire for the spare rim...now that's deal you just won't find from any other dealer, I can guarantee it!"

    :D

"...... highlights the automotive and truck career of Bert R. Parrott of Jackson, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri. Parrott was the inventor of an unusual one-wheeled truck, a predecessor of the tractor-trailer rig of today. Parrott was also president of the Dorris Motor Car Company. The Dorris was a luxury car produced from 1898-1926."

Mr. Fire, the early Moxie mobiles are pretty cool. I'm guessing a few of them are Ramblers by the dealer sign in the one pic. In the 20's they built several cars with a horse on the back. The driver steered by the reins and rode the horse. A local has built several replicas, can be seen at Hershey fall show. There's a case of Moxie in the fridge if anyone wants to stop by for one?

Yo there, NoboD, cool info. And I think a few of the later ones were on a LaSalle chassis, as well. Yup and the horse on the back, but the rider could steer and brake the "car" from the saddle! Must have been quite a crowd pleaser.

Stanley Steamers, Ramblers, Buicks - the Ponycycle is captioned as a Henderson motorcycle with a GMC truck also in the photo.
