    Some years later....
    (...........
'Cribbies' and 'Cribby kids' were never well-off. The children of an English migrant family in the late 1950s sold soft drinks at the Redcliffe speedway between races, and promoted sales by a singing act. They were well received, and went on to become the Bee Gees: Barry Gibb graduated from the Cribb Island class of 1961.

and I'll remove any dupes to keep the thread uncluttered. Thanks!

Yeah, MrModelT! It's like a car show, ONLY BETTER, 'cause it was CONTEMPORARY cars of the day, some brand new, I'm sure!!! Given leaway of a year or two in either direction, WHAT YEAR would you surmise this photo was taken???

On the Fords, I see steel cowls and brass radiators, which is a hallmark of the 1915 and 1916 models.

I would say 1916...because all the Buicks are no newer than 1916 and the Model T Couplet in the foreground is obviously brand new...and is a 1916 model (there are 3 other 1916 T's in the photo as well).

Jeez, guys, THIS is what I like about this thread! On other forums, people beat all around the bush. Here on the HAMB, people seem comfortable speaking their minds! Hell, I like that, as it is refreshing.

So, now I feel CLOSER to this previously vague (but wonderful!) photograph. Circa a presidential election year and a bit before World War I. I can SEE the inherent statement here about the MOOD of the country when the pic was taken. (Rather like the mood before WWII, I'd say).

THANKS for bringing it all into focus, guys!!! -- Jimi

Grahame, is that the Cummins-powered Auburn that ran at Indy in the mid-'30s?

This is why you're Mr. Model T, and I've got a small-block Chevy reference in my username. :p

If you haven't seen too many 1915-16 T Coupelets the original price may be the reason, $750.00 vs $440.00 for the Runabout (roadster), the Center Door Sedan was $975.
