Ever wonder what happens to old busses? They go here to The Community Traction Company bus graveyard.

Score! Definitely more fun than a barrel, and maybe even a Bantam. Can we all fit?

That's at the 1908 Algonquin hillclimb (Chicago). Ford did have a model A back then, but I doubt it's the same A the FAST boys are into!

Long before the Segway was invented, the postal service had these scooters. LOC photos.

I'm not sure Chevrolet made a two-way folding top, but these guys have got one.

Since Twin 6 has gone postal this afternoon, I will add this fine and high quality NYC Postal Service truck. I think that it maybe an Alco made by the American Locomotive Co. which was one of the best built trucks of the time.

More postal trucks.....The first I believe maybe a Kissel, the second photo shows Macks, the third appears to be a 1904 Knox while the forth looks to be an electric. The fifth truck is an unknown make.

Clinton Folger delivering mail on South Beach Street, Nantucket. Ayuh. Photo from Nantucket Historical Assn.

"For nearly twenty years, from 1900 to 1918, Nantucket was the only place in the nation that successfully fought encroachment of the automobile within its limits. Opposing politicians on the mainland and large property owners, mostly non-residents, Nantucketers kept the island free of the "gasoline buggy" until the final vote of the town on May 15, 1918. By the narrow margin of forty - 326 to 286 - the automobile was allowed entry. Clinton Folger was the mail carrier for Nantucket. Because cars were forbidden by the town, he towed his car to the state highway for driving to Siasconset."
