    Mart, please go back and see Posts # 2427 and 2428. Sorry, you just came in at the middle of the exchange. Sunroof knew it was a ZIS, and I commented on what U.S. cars it may have looked like. That's all.

    Apparently this was a shunter, used to move railroad cars. It looks like the granddaddy of the rigs now used to haul the baggage wagons at the airports. Not a very good photo, but certainly an interesting machine.

    Artfrombama, on #2498, that's from a panoramic camera technique popular back then. Before real film went out of fashion recently, the photo and camera companies probed the market to see if people would like it again, and it went nowhere.

    Firey - that group photo has me thinking about getting a new (wide) monitor. Great shot! Here are some WW1 British soldiers hamming it up a bit with mock prisoners.
