    Hey all,
I'm not sure if all of you know about "the photoshop thread to end all photoshop threads" here on the HAMB, so I've decided to start one here for anyone who wants to have a little work done on their Ford.

Here's one for Genosslk. The first pic is what his car looks like now- I think it looks great; he just wanted some ideas for a possible repaint.

That's a great looking car, very conservative and clean. I also like the original color...perhaps because my Vicky is the same hue.

I've looked at some of the factory advertising, looking for where the two-tone break came when Ford did it...and came up with nothing on sedans, only hardtops.

I'd like to see genossilk's sedan done in the original blue with an ivory top, which was a very popular Ford combination. I'd like to see the color break as it is now, at the rain gutter, and also one with the break at the belt molding, which would seem to be the natural place to do it.

One problem, however, is that the visor will look huge when it's painted ivory...

And, since I'm right in the middle of a p***le of unaskedfor "advice", I think I'd lose the door handles as well. The rest of the trim is perfect, in my humble opinion.

Genossilk hase given his sedan a very nice stance, and has been very helpful to me with his support of Jamco who supplied the parts. Now it's time to fine-tune the body shape to match the stance. Wisely, instead of heavy bodywork, he's chosen to do it with paint.

I can't wait to see what you come up with, Scott!

When i 'shopped Genos' car with the red, I really liked the candy look on the moons- so I bought some emerald green candy Testors rattle can at the hobby shop and let her have it. I put them on for the first time today and went to a car show. Gotta say I think I really dig them. It's a nice little "add-on" that makes my ride look different for awhile.

Barris "Kandy Krome" spray paint was a really hot item in the early '60s - like '61 and '62. The most popular colors were "Kandy Pagan Gold", "Kandy Ruby Red" and "Kandy Emerald Green".

Everybody but everybody used it on grilles and hubcaps and lots of other areas of the car as an accent. There for a while it was unusual for a custom to not have Kandy Krome paint on it somewhere.

Then, like so many other items of that era, it simply disappeared...****, gone...replaced by some other fad like mylar chrome tape, glitter or lucite plastic, all in colors, of course.

I, for one, really liked it, especially when used very subtly, like gold on the center bullet of a hubcap, red in the background of a '56 Olds Fiesta spinner, or green in a very narrow stripe around the inside rim of a chrome reverse wheel, like a delicate and colorful trim ring.

I'm glad to see you bring the concept back, Scott. It's been gone too long!

Geno... Did'ja change your wheels and tires...or did Scott? Photoshop is so good it's very hard to tell.

I like this version very much...kind of a '70s vibe with the Americans. I have them on my street rod and like 'em a lot.

Please forgive me Geno if I make a couple of suggestions...just my nature, I can't help myself...

If the mags are "real" and you're going to keep them, I'd drop the nose another inch or so to give the car a slight forward tilt. This would be the proper stance for the period...in my humble opinion.

Being a long-time, long-distance hot rod traveler myself, you might want to consider a lighter, more neutral color.

Dark metallic colors show every bit of dust, dew spots, rain s*** and bugs and will need to be cleaned every day to keep 'em looking good.

Lighter colors, especially non-metallic colors, like light blue, seafoam green, cloud grey, salmon, pale yellow (good God, don't paint it pale yellow!) and the like can go for days without any attention at all and still look great.

My street rod is a light grey, a color that I have been thankful for painting it for over 20 years. It's got lots and lots of road rash, but it hardly shows until you get up close. A neutral color does not have the same dramatic presentation as a bright one, but it's so much easier to maintain when travelling.

I'd rather wake up and think about finding a good local resturaunt for breakfast than to worry about whether or not this town has a decent spray wash. Know what I mean?

Hope you are not offended, Geno, but I feel obligated to speak out...even if it is just to state my own admittedly narrow-minded opinions. I am fully aware that free advice is usually worth exactly what you pay for it.

    Hey Jason,
For sure I can work on it. If you have any other pics of it outside and together that would be best. Also, the more angles you get, the more I have to work with. Let me know what you are looking for as far as paint, wheels, stance, chop, whatever...

Hey Eric... you are right, I do like the lighter color. Scott is trying to do the light blue on the bottom and a light gray (almost white) on the top down to the beltline.
On the wheels.... I trade them depending on my mood and where I'm taking it. If I go to the drags I use the mags, and if I do a cruise or something nostalgic, I use the chromes and caps. the wheels completely change the car. The nose is slightly lower and it does have a bit of rake, it doesn't show much here.
I think your opinion and anyone elses is welcomed so don't think it might offend me... it won't!

    Hey skoh,
Just wanted to see if there is anything you can do with my car. I got the hood back on and tried to get some better pics of it. I was thinkin about a crimson and cream two tone. Crimson on the body and cream on top. Maybe with some cream scallops on it. Chopped and unchopped. lowered to the ground. all shaved except trim around top. Let me know if you can maybe do somethin with it. I'll try to post pictures... should be interesting!
    Thank you.

Hey Geno here's one- I tried to get it as close to your wife's idea as possible. It is not my absolute best work, but I was using my finger and the pad on my laptop (and you thought using a mouse was archaic). Just wanted to give you an idea.

    Dragonknucks-
Those pics will work. It'll take me a little while, I am buried at work, but I'm happy to do it. That color scheme sounds cool.
