looking for some ideas for a truck i just bought. its a 59 chevy apache fleetside. this truck had apparently been done up in the 80's. it looks as if it was two toned with a dark grey and black. would like to see what you think this looked like back then. you can see that the front had a flame or scallop job on it at some point. i was thinking slamme with some whitewalls? maybe too common. lets see if you guys can come up with something. anyone from Guthrie, OK recognize this truck? would like to find some history on it. thanks everyone.
Here ya go. Top chopped. wing windows removed. Slammed. door handles shaved. bed spear moved forward. Craig
i like the idea with the spear moved to the doors. i would like to leave it unchopped. tiny- do you really sell used caskets?
looks good tab. anyboy have any ideas for paint other than the flat black?? i love it, but am afraid its just to common. something with more of a kustom feel to it?
Ive always been fond of a good flat red or flat mintish green (somewere around there, not sure what it really is) on certain rods.
How about a flat deep blue with same color gloss flames along with the chop, shaved handles and wing window removal.
extend the cab behind the door ,,,, get a panel truck for rear quarters, but keep the spear ,,, chop 1 inch, ,,, section 2" through the center of the hoodside and the door ,,, move the front wheelwell forward about 4" .... shorten the bed both in front of and behind the rear wheelwells ,,, I like purple... maybe a flake roof and some scallops. I'd change the wheels to full hubcaps and whitewalls, but I haven't read the book that came with my photo editing software
Stance: LOWered Paint: Shiny or matte yellowish bright gold with cream fade accents over the predominant body lines/features, Caddy caps and WW's. Bullets used tastefully everywhere.
can someone do flat black with some white scallops like the ones on cfish50chevy's 50 chevy (see pic). whitewalls and either one of the wheels. maybe make the arrow white, too? i think that might not look to bad- especially with the budget. thanks again
Not exactly a photochop, but heres mine that somebody took at the Drags Nevermind the ditch that its straddling.
InDaShop, I got a couple of pictures of your truck. Very nice, I liked the black wood in the bed. Very nice Mick
InDaShop- awesome truck. does it have a mild chop? cant tell if its the angle or the coupe in the background, or just me. i like that color. have any interior and engine shots??
No chop. The interior is Indian Blankets stiched on the seat, doors, and headliner. As for the engine, its not HAMB photoworthy (fuel injected crate motor). Its a driver, 18mpg and can do 95mph for hours on end (tested). I don't have any pics on my work computer of the interior, but there are quite a few HAMB Drags pics that it snaked its way into.
InDaShop - Used your request as an excuse to practice some Photoshop techniques. Hopefully you'll get at least a smile just thinkin' about how much metal time you'd have ahead of you to go this route.
That concept is pretty dang cool. I think if you narrowed the whole truck 10" or so you'd have decent proportions. I know one of those Illinois boys had narrowed up and shortened up one of those fleetsides for Spacetruck 2.0 think they were calling it a "CHET" bed, cause of what letters were left on the tailgate.
Here's a shot with scallops. I'm working on a blue on blue flamer but want to get it right before I post it. I think early 60's whites (medium width) and maybe some Knock-off caps on a cleaner mag wheel. I'll put a different set of rims on the flamer.
Jigger your photochop reminds me completely of Alvin Garnica's 58 that made it into Rod & Kulture #6 like a spitting image!
Sorry to say but the 58-59's look awful in flat black.... do something with color, preferebly shiney... drop it a little and put a four speed in it and a better rear gear and drive it.... I miss mine...
