Hello guys. Hopefully this isn't too off topic and i won't get flamed too hard for this. I am in wisconsin, and i have been on the hunt for a decent yet affordable project 52-54 ford 2 door, However there is a solid 49' 2 door not far from me on the side of the road, and it won't quit staring at me. I don't want to go snap pictures of it until i look at it with the owner, because i suspect the owner may be a HAMB'er and i don't mean any disrespect. The price is under 5k and the car is very nice and solid, looks to be original (or an old repaint) and has what looks to be an original drivetrain. The interior is also nice (i can smell it from outside though ) Everything seems to be in the ballpark for what i want to do (lets call it traditional hotrod tribute). While glancing under the car i saw that the floors are intact and pretty solid, the trunk floor is all there, the wheel well areas look solid and the frame has no holes (midwest car obviously has rust on it though). The only structural damage i can see is about a 12 inch hole on either side, on what i'd like to call the "inner rockers". However, pictures i see on the internet are not matching up to what i see on the car. Can someone put up a picture of an underside of a 49-51 shoebox ford please?? There seem to be a series of body mounts or straps that run down the side of the car and bolt to this area, i can't tell if it is major structural for the body to mount to the frame or not. I will get pictures once i look at it if the owner is OK with that. thanks for any help, i just want a comparison picture so i can point out the area and get further help from the m*** of knowledge here.
