Thanks for that mate, finally got some pix happening... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Nekronomicon/IMG_1402.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Nekronomicon/IMG_1398.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Nekronomicon/IMG_1399.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Nekronomicon/IMG_1393.jpg
Looks like you got yourself some room to work on it! There are some 64 caps on Egay, they came up while looking under FB-EK...
Thanks for the bump. Just had time to go through all the pics. Some really nice chev's. Would love to see some more from the gasser arena though. Or possibly more "muscle car" style maybe.
Thanks for the thread bump. I hadn't seen this one. Gotta' say I'm leanin' hard toward the clean, bellflower-style. That slammed, candy green, two-door Bel-Air looks exactly like what I was cookin' up in my brain. I could see that in an oriental blue, flake silver top, with chrome reverse and spider caps, sittin' in my driveway. Nobody in my immediate circle even gets it when I describe the Bellflower style. That style, with all the color, stance, and wheel combos, just gets the juices flowin'.
How about this "red-headed-stepchild"... I used to have one. It was a lot of fun. Alunimum V8 under the hood, transaxle under the trunk. It was fun going around corners on the "pig trail" in the mountains near Fayetteville, Arkansas. Couldn't find parts for it though so I sold it. This isn't a picture of mine, I found it on the web.
Here are a few of in my opinion the baddest '63 Impala ever. Dave Strickler's '63 Z-11 which won the majority of it's races in '63. It was the first Z-11 built and was tuned by Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins. As you may have noticed, I lean toward the SS & AFX cars!!!! This car has survived and is restored as it was raced in '63.
Here are a few of Dave Strickler's '62s. He ran two that year, a sport coupe(bubbletop) and an hardtop(aluminum front). The hardtop(red lettered) was only run at the U.S. Nats. Some of these photos came from Mike Strickler, Dave's son. He has a ton of photos for sale. If anyone is interested,pm me and I will hook you up with him.
Here are a few of the car that started the "Old Reliable" series. '61 Biscayne originally a 348 but ended up with a Jenkins 409. This car set the first NHRA Super Stock record ever!!! It has never been found. Anybody know where it is????
Sure I have plenty!!! I love this era of drag racing. Here are a couple of two legends we lost this year, Dyno Don and Ronnie Sox. There is also a photo of Hayden Proffit who is alive and kickin'... I'll post more if you guys want, later. I need to roll. Not bad photos for a Ford guy, huh???
I plan on building a superstock 63 or 62 'Dyno Don' clone for the street someday. If you could e-mail me pics of any 62-63's that would be great. Thanks man! webmaster@autowonderland.ca Oh ya- check out this link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94939&highlight=super+stock
Awesome pix troublemaker, thanks for sharin them. Its weird that no one knows where that 61 is though...have you tried contacting a few people about it??
Mike Strickler(Dave's son) and Bill Stiles(Dave's head wrench for many years) have been looking for this car for many years. The car just kind of disappears after the third owner. There is a rumor it may be in the midwest but it has never been confirmed. There is talk of a replica being built. Glad you guys like the photos. Mike has an awesome collection of "behind the scenes" photos for sale if anyone is interested.
Here's one version I did for the Jim Ries '62 that is currently a Rod & Custom project car. They held a poll to see which version they should do. This one did not win, but was my favorite!!!
Here is a link to a picture of the heap I've owned and driven for 21 years. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=165032&d+1140632016
