Fellas, I'm working on some concepts over here, and while I know a lot of ideas will cross over from GM and Fomoco cars, I'd like to see some custom touches on '50s Mopars. They don't seem to have ever been popular with customizers, even in the '50s-60s when they were common.

Please post them up, especially if you've got some with Watson-esque paint.

My 57 isn't radical, but here it is.

Wow Rikster!! Those are some great photo's! I really like the last group shot. Wht's the story on that one? I think old mopars are underrated. Im hoping to start on my 51 plymouth this spring. Thanks for sharing.

I also think it would make a great print/poster.

Everyone's seen my two door'd '60 Fury but I'll post it up again in the interest of keeping this excellent thread going. Also throwing in a pic of my just painted but unfinished '55 Dodge. Some of that Watson style paintwork would look nice on it.

Wow, GotGas, are you a mind reader or what... I was just thinking about starting a topic like this one the other day... :D

I would also be interested in seeing some pics of early 60's Customized Mopars if someone got any.

I've been playing with the idea of putting some scallops on my '64 Chrysler.

Hey Rikster... That last photo of yours will sure do pretty nice on my garage-wall I would think.
Guess I'll have something to print in large format again at work... :D

In High school we took my buddies 67 Fury III, and dropped it with wide chrome reverse wheels with baby moons, shaved all the trim, and rounded a few sharp corners. I shot it in black metallic, which i think we had custom mixed, and it resembled the car in the movie "The Car" , which i don't think had even been made yet! Wish i had a picture of it still.:(

At this point, it's just a basic drop and shave(minus door handles). Took the center chunk out of the grill too just for kicks.

I like the looks of it with the center removed.[IMG]

    Looks good without the center.
I will also remove the entire grill on my 64 Chrysler and replace it with some flatblack mesh-perforated sheetmetal.

Did some additional photoshoppin' on my car and gave it the wheels of my 65 Chrysler to get an idea how a set of whitewalls and chrome wheels would look on the car. Watcha y'all think?
