Art & Inspiration picked this old copper/lead printing stamp of a car

Picked this today at a garage sale, Not sure what it is, maybe you guys can help. Its small, (2.5") what looks to be a copper over lead stamp. Would this have been used in printing press type operation?

 

Ink it up and print it out on a piece of paper.

 

Yes, that is an old printing plate, probably for a newspaper.
