I posted a new member thread a short while ago. I said I was looking for a '32 Chevy 5-window. Well, I picked one up Friday! It's a project car for sure. But it's a good starting point for me. Got a crazy amount of parts with it. Fresh rebuilt 250 6-cylinder. Fresh rebuilt 700r4. The rear is a 35k mile '55 Chevy. Has a drop front axle with a new disc brake kit (still in the boxes).
He replaced a lot of the wood with square and rectangular tubing. A lot of the bad wood was replaced with red oak.
Thanks to all! I'm a Hot Rod newcomer. Had tons of muscle cars and three different '72 Chevy trucks. I'm looking forward to learning about this '32. So, pour the information on if ya got it!
This one has some wood that still needs repaired. Mainly in the doors. He replaced a lot of the cab wood with steel and red oak.
Nice score and if you haven’t found it yet you may want to check out this thread: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/termites-and-bowties-early-chevy-group.323303/ Looking forward to seeing this one.
Had to see it with rear fenders. Plus I don't have to find a place to store them! I needed some wheels/tires so I could mount the disc brake kit. Mounted up the old GTO slicks!
Do put an opening rear window in, it will really be appreciated during hot weather, believe me, I know that for a fact.
Thanks for the advice! That's in the plan. He gave me a mostly complete reproduced rear window regulator frame. He remade it in red oak.
Got one side of the disc brake conversion installed. The caliper bracket was hitting the spindle stop bracket. Had to machine a notch in it.
