WOW! Love the Pontiac of course! You've got mad skills! I'm adding that to my bookmarks for reference. I saw a blue '32 Pontiac for sale on Facebook marketplace for like $23k. Looks like a killer deal. The Sprint engines kinda scare me. They are awesome. But building one, finding parts etc. IDK. I'm too old for some battles.

I hear ya. I just put my Muncie back in my '64 GTO after a long time with slush-box. I'm probably done drag racing. Gotta break the clutch in a little more then bang gears!!! :)

The 250 six was rebuilt using V8 pistons. He said he thought from a 305 or 307. Two extra pistons came with it. They are +.030". I measured one this morning. I'm confused. Looks like it would be stock bore diameter? Maybe they honed it and put new rings in? Maybe I'm missing the obvious. I guess the casting number means nothing.

Yes. But I don't see a Chevy V8 that is that dimension at +.030". Usually ***ume a rebuilt engine gets bored cylinders. That would put the 250 at 3.875" + .030" @ 3.905". Piston being a couple of thousandths less of course. Thus my confusion. Hopefully a more seasoned engine builder will shed some light on this. Not that it matters a ton. Ha

Great start! Reminds me of the late great Pat Ganahl's blue, Chevy six powered 32 Chevy coupe...

Schmitz, 307 pistons are right for a 250, they bump the CR a bit as long as they dont have a chamfer around the top of the piston as did the stock 250 pistons. I see yours have the chamfered edge so your CR should be same as stock 250.

I see. Thanks for the insight. But standard 307 bore is same as 250 bore right? So they must not have bored the block. Surprised that a machine shop would do that. Maybe that's why they're permanently closed. Lol!

Schmitz, both engines use a 3.875 bore so if your pistons are marked .030, the block has been bored.
