I found a cheap 40 Chevy coupe project a few hours away and decided to pick it up. Was quite the adventure, getting the body onto the frame and then getting the frame onto the trailer and everything hooked up and secured took us almost 6 hours. Then we had straps and chains come loose 5-6 times on the drive home. I was driving behind my dad watching the trailer making sure all was good. Luckily we didn’t have any major mishaps but lots of straps broke, we strapped the body to the frame and chained the frame to the trailer but the straps kept coming loose or snapping. Fun stuff! Already have an engine and tranny for it, gotta find a rear end to stick under it and then the fun begins.

If your ever interested in an original frame I have a real nice one. They are a one year only. I thought ours was bent so I found one in Arizona and ours wasn’t.
If you can see fit to loose one of the center grille stainless strips I could sure use one..

This one did have the original frame with a Camaro front end already welded on, though I don't know how well it's done yet. I'm going to have to do some measuring and fitting before I decide whether I'm going to keep it or try something else. I'm hesitant to trust someone else's work but I guess we'll start with how well it's measured up first.

I might be able to part with the grill strip, depends which one I'm going to use. They're both a little dinged up but I'm sure the dents can be gently tapped out.

When I was a little kid (mid 50's) my Dad had a 40 Chevy coupe for a beater- work car. He blew up the engine and it sat for a year or two. I must have"drove" that car a million miles while it sat behind the house when I was 5 or 6. Dad ended up trading it to a guy in exchange for a big tree removal. I was pissed:mad:

  7. Looks like a good project. Yes, I'd check the track width of that Camaro front end, it looks like a front steer, and may be a bit wide for your car. And as you say, not knowing who or how the previous work was done.
