Thought I'd share my new A with you guys. Not sure where it's going, but I'll enjoy it as a banger to start.
Thanks! It's super solid 100% Henry steel. The right rear fender is painted differently and seems to be an exact match to the left rear, but neither of the last 2 owners replaced it. The left front has also been painted and has variations in the crease, but seems to be a quality piece. I'll find out if it was done in the past 35-40 years. The mileage is also thought to be accurate. It's definitely a keeper. Cars this age in unrestored condition are hard to come by. I also think its purchase price was extremely fair. It also runs and drives well. I'm not quite sure what direction it's going to go, as I was actually looking for a '30-'31 pick up to hot rod and then this sedan showed up. I definitely have visions of no fenders, low, chopped and a flathead with big and littles on steelies. Right now I'm just going to drive it as is and get a clearer vision of what I'm really going to do with it. I do know it's here to stay.
"The mileage is also thought to be accurate. Cars this age in unrestored condition are hard to come by. I also think its purchase price was extremely fair." I'm all for starting with the most solid car you can find, but if the mileage is correct on this "survivor" and you got it for for a great price, have you considered flipping it to a Model A restorer and using the seed money to look for your Model A pickup project?
Wow, what a sweet little Model A! Also your avatar is the greatest amp Fender ever made.....IMHO! Best to you!
Great looking Sedan with a ton of potential. My Dad's '31 Coupe had the same ridiculous fuel line setup on it when he got it a couple of years back. I would have bet that I'd never see another like it but I would have lost.
Car looks great, nice score. Cant wait to see the progress. Carefull driving the banger, they grow on you real quick and you may not want to remove it.
Excellent! Dare to be different and leave it STOCK ( with '35 wires and a hot banger- instant hard core hot rod) Nice find ; ya don't see many like that around these parts.
Haven't been around much and thought I'd give an update. After wrenching on it a little and driving it around I knew in my heart I'd just prefer a coupe or pickup. So I ended up selling it. I even thought I'd give up on the AV8 dream. Well now that I've been without an A for a few months, I just feel like I have to have one. I just plain like em'.
Man...congrats, love the CDans. been drivin the piss outa mine. the banger may not be a rocket ship, but man it's a gas to drive. Keep us in the loop as work progresses. Ron
Beautiful car. The only thing I'd do is drive the 19's off it then change to 16's and an axle with some rubber rake. Maybe ditch the radiator eating two blader as well. That's a great score for sure! Congrats, Tim
Yes... I did sell it along with some nice vintage Ford type hotrod parts. I knew a Tudor wasn't what I wanted and even had thought I gave the vintage hotrod idea up. Problem is I just can't get these old hotrod's out of my head. I think they're just who I am. The search is on for a 30-31 Model A coupe or a 32-34 truck. I also start my first welding cl*** at the local college in 2 weeks. I'm stoked. Sure wish I wouldn't have moved the parts. I had some nice ones. Hell, I shouldn't have sold the Tudor.
I guess things have away of working out. Picked up a sweet coupe today. This one's nicer than the sedan. I'll post pics when I pick it up.
