No, but it could have been the source of the myth that any block that had an X was high nickel.

Those experts will tell you anything to sell you parts.

Anyways, here is some rocker covers,
if I load pics right it will be top to bottom ,
Moon , Gene Adams , Magnesium GM , Alum GM ( these I will sell since I have 3 sets )

Yeah, the article forgot to mention the reason it did not finish is because it blew up on the dyno.
$13000 for 599hp doesn't seem to be cost effective or impressive to me ,
I'm not here to argue the self proclaimed experts not backing their claims with HP
I'm here to encourage this man to build that Olds and teach him how to do it cost effectively , which is not to buy parts through dick miller or mondello ( joe or his son ) .

Thanks again for all the info and pointers! also for those pictures of the covers. they look really nice. Still not sure exactly what Im going to do with this engine?? probably just clean some of the crud and buildup off of it and stick it in the corner out of the way for now.

I am also planning on running a 403 Olds in my 50 Willys rat. Got the Holley Street Doninator intake, the Holley 6210 Spread bore carb and want to run Lakerster style headers. The motor is stock. Anyone see any pro0blems with this setup? Oh, and early 70's turbo 400, stock stall. Would like to find some cool valve covers too, but all the cool ones are pricey.
