Well, just got this today. Came all the way from Jackson Mississippi. Its a 60 Buick Electra 4-dr hardtop. 44k miles, power windows, seats, and tilt. 401 Nailhead. Has air ride if you couldnt tell by the stance. The interior is pretty wasted but the southern sun will do that over time i guess. Came with a roll of original interior material from 1960 still in the card board tube. Next weekend its going to get some gold metal flake shot on the roof and trunk/fin area. Cant wait. Ill post more pics of it and the flake soon ! They're ****py cell phone pics for now
Love this. Love the flattop roof line, car sits perfectly. Not sure about the gold roof and trunk, I think a pair of dual antennas and some Supreme wheels would be the only things I'd do to it. But I look forward to seeing what the flake looks like.
Nice ride. I agree and I know where some cheap astro supremes are locally, I also know where there are some cheaper chrome reverse. Drop me a line if interested Ill get you the guys number.
That baby looks a mile long slammed like that! Another vote for Supremes & pinner whites here. Love to see a rear view, tailfins really do it for me.
Yeah we'll be there as usual. More than likely sittin right next to you guys again if you dont mind. Been thinking about that too. The more i look at it the more i like the caps
My Dad had a '60 coupe. Mom sold it after he died. I miss them both. Careful about the rims. Those drums in the front make wheel fitment tricky. MEASURE FIRST! Make sure you can return the rims if they don't fit. I speak form experience, here. We couldn't find rims thet would fit without spening a bit o' cash, so we put some Lacner caps from Moon equip on it and called it good.
60 Buicks are some of my FAVORITE cars. tried to nab one a little while back but the logistics were too much. Nice score, can't wait to see the new paint touches.
Buicks rule anyway, but the GM "flattops" on the 4-Doors make them RetroCool today. Again, careful with the wheels ! My INVICTA runs Roadster Wires BUT they had to be carefully fit & the rears have spacers on 'em. ALSO, the INVICTA'S fitted with hydraulics, SO with airbags you'll need to compensate for size of tires/wheels to coincide with the hardware on your front suspension...raising/lowering can be a tricky experience. In reality, the caps on there now are TRULY P-E-R-F-E-C-T ! I'd keep 'em and use the cash I saved on some other part of the project ! (This is one time that the factory designers "got-it-right" !) You can check-out the full blown look of mine at my WebSite: www.legends.thewwbc.net All the best to you...one cool ride !
Thanks ! Yeah i usually do ALOT of research on anything i do to a car considering ive owned/built almost 100 cars. Ive learned the hard way too many times. At this point i dont think the Supremes will work. Center hole isnt large enough. So, i think ill be rockin those caps or some spider caps.
That is a sweet flat-top, I've been looking for the the 61 2 dr Chevy version for a while,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I finally got to add some Albums to my Info. You can check-out my Caps/Wheels there if you have time ! JK PS: You're right by sticking with the Fac.Caps...they are cool just as they roll.
