well a little bit about myself first,i have done an intro years ago but that was when i was young and a twat:D i'm Dale from lincolnshire, england 22 years old and have just bought astrozombies model a coupe hop up,I started off building a volksrod and after 7 years of building it once it was on the road i knew i was way past the vw stage and hankered for a traditiona hot rod and here we are.

here is the coupe in question.

and this is the volksrod if you like that sort of shit ;)

So last month the coupe arrived and as soon as i got it in the workshop it was time to see if it started, moved etc and after 2 months of sitting round it started up first time which was just awesome :D

after the inital shock that i owned a steel model a coupe i cracked straight on with getting it ready for an mot test which you need to register the car in the uk,the car really is in awesome condition and no rot anywhere but the roof was only really welded on the back and none of the pillars/windows etc lined up so that need doing before it was deemed roadworthy a coupe of solid days on it with help from my fellow club member and the roof is now all finished just needing a llittle bit of filler here and there, sorry no pictures as i've been taking them the whle way through the process but not realising my camera isn't working :(

Still not quite ready for an mot yet it needs shock absorbers on all four corners i've managed to get some ford pilot lever arms for the front just looking for some for the rear right now and then it should be ready for a test.

my basic plan for the car is run it around pretty much as is for now with maybe a wheel and tyre change to some 40 steelies and black walls and maybe a brake floater set, whilst driving the fuck out of it i shall be making up a deuce chassis for it and collecting parts, hopefully flathead powered and running low to the ground very similar to the pinkees model a coupe.

also the other day i picked up what i thought was a pair of 32 axles but turns out the front is model a and the rear is a 34 which still isn't a problem as they can still be used with the deuce chassis.

so i've gone from 2 months ago having a workshop full of volkswagon parts to being full of early ford parts which is a big difference :D

    some pictures for ya

Very cool score. Drive the heck out of it, and keep collecting all the parts for your "new" build in the future.

Your rear axle is the same as a later '32.

Good score, man. That A has a mean stance. For a VW, you had that one looking pretty sick as well.

  14. I'm still very pleased that you have "upgraded" Dale!
I can't wait till all of us can get together with our cars as it's going to be rather cool. Now, crack on mate.

    Mo' pics for you.
