Bud Braun is my grandfather. This car still exists and is in the same configuration save for a 3-deuce intake rather than the 4 deuce that was on the car. My Grandfather did the paint and bodywork, but someone else did the pinstriping. George Choma helped my grandfather squeeze a J2 Olds in his '40 Ford coupe in exchange for the bodywork and paint. All lead.
I've lived near that town all my life and never got to see that 32 in person. From what I heard by the relative of the present owner, he bought it from Choma in the recent decade. The relative said "I'd put a flathead it in, but he won't sell it to me". WTH? Same town, at Staffordville Lake, back around 1963 or so, as a kid, I saw a emerald metallic green 40 Ford coupe with what I thought was an early Olds in it. It was at Harvey Smiths "crappy Used car sales/garage", for $600. I never saw that 40 again, and nobody remembers it. .
From what I hear, the current owner isn't much of a car guy. My Grandfather saw the car at the Stafford Swap Meet in the spring. Not sure if it was for sale, or just to show. I've been dying to see the car in person, but keep missing it. Choma passed away in the last few years. I think the car was acquired just before his passing. The car had been sitting for years, but well preserved. I'd happily swap the flathead in my 48 for that olds motor!
