I'm an Aussie & Ive been to that yard quite a few times.... John is up with prices and mails stuff all over the world, if you cant get there in person call him he WILL ship parts! I was there a few months back looking for parts for my 63 Marauder but it was the windiest SOB day & I was in a hurry trying to get to Sacro Ford before it closed so all I got was a few pics....I have a few extra shots to share if somebody will post them for me???...Craig
I've bought many parts from John over the years and he is very easy to deal with and I think the prices are very reasonable.
His wife must love him more than my wife loves me because look at the cars his wife lets him keep in the backyard......
Thanks Bryan for posting those pics for me! Check out the photo of the second fury in the stack of three, that rim is supporting the whole car! scary.....JMO
Yeah, they know what they have and price accordingly. But when I've needed stuff I can't find I always end up finding it there. John and his crew are pretty cool to deal with too.
My sweetie and I stopped by there a couple months ago, on a Sunday morning. Nobody around, of course... Okay, there's two Furys and an upsidedown cow in the barn? My damn decoder ring must've thrown a rod or something - I can't see 'em. Interesting UFO behind the tree in that one shot, though.....
Had to put a nitro tablet under my tounge to keep from passing out!! Is the Plymouth coupe on the bottom of the stack a Golden Commando or whatever they called it? Also, not sure if this has been posted but go here quick before they take it down. This makes Big M look like a dwarf. I have to go now and clean my keyboard. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170060842285&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:11
I've been going to that yard for awhile now, he has another yard as well, across down, he's got about 50 or so cars there, but that's where he keeps the parts, he's got a shit ton of bumpers, doors, fenders, etc. and inside the barn/ office he's got every fucking chrome part you could ever need from probably every car.
No, it's a nuclear bomb and if you don't give him those records, he's gonna set it off with a hammer.
I have a58 ranch wagon it looks exactly like that. I would be fo sure if I could see the front.55-57 has two head lights and 58-59 has four.
His prices are fair. Don't forget it is a business for him and they take the time to look and go after the derelicts that a lot of us would pass on. That in itself is very time consuming. He was very reasonable on prices and there seemed to be some room to negotiate. I bought a super straight door for my Fairlane for like $80. Seeing as how they can't be found very easily, I did well. The Plymouth on the bottom stack came from a Pick N Pull in Fairfield. I gave him the info on where to get it and he gave me a discount on a gas tank I needed. BTW he had the only tank I had found in 4 years. They wouldn't sell him the whole car but he took the driveline and the body and left the frame. That way he was following the spirit of the law (they can't put it back on the street). It was a super nice fury that must have been in a barn for a long time. It showed age but was rust free and had receipts, etc inside that were no newer than 1976. The interior was pretty nice too. He is real big on Fury's and has a super clean red one that he did all the work on. Call for when they will be there would be best. If you are across country, just call or email him and he will get back to you, he knows everything he has there and does ship. He used to do ebay but said it took up too much time, taking pictures, etc.
Maybe Im missing something but that bottom stack doesnt seem to be fury? Doesnt have the sport tone inserts no?
I counted 6 BIG!!! German Shepherds on that Charger ... I'd think twice before I'd go in there at any time.
Great photos of the Big 'M' yard. I have a question, maybe someone from the Northeast can help out with.....a while back I overheard someone talking about a huge junkyard on the RI/CT border, and the only time to visit is early Spring, cause of weeds, brush, and bugs. Was wondering if anyone knew where it's located, and if anyone can access; or if it's off limits. Not much of old car yards out here; although I came across one defunct Hudson dealership & yard in Bellingham, MA; but all fenced in - lots of late model Hudsons, Studes just sitting, owner won't move them or sell. Anyways, any info on local NE yards would be a great help....Thanks
John is one of the guys you want to talk to, he's really cool, we have been going there for a while. I picked up alot of good stuff from him over the years and he always has a space at Turlock in the barn area. JOKER JASON.
Yep, you can see the trunk lid sticking up behind the bush and the way the top fits over the windsheild. Man, we ain't got anything like that yard around here.
