say what ever you want but i grew up in the era of Red Lines and that looks just like one thats oversized. but i think if that was the look i was going for id have some Cragers with some redline tires on it.

I think that may be *chrome powder coating*........it looks very much like real chrome.......I've seen it done on valve covers.....you can hardly tell it's not chrome plating.....

In reality, looking at it, that cars "chrome" has a much whiter look to it than real chrome does.

Had a great weekend! Was a HOT mother, but I'll take the heat over the rain any day... Nice to meet you Big Al, and John (hiboyroadsterboy)... and any other fellow HAMB'ers who stopped by while I was actually anywhere near my car. I was flyin' the HAMB colors with my brand new HAMB and Jalopy Journal T-shirts on friday and Saturday and was amazed by how many people came up and introduced themselves as a result. Car count may have been down, but there were still a ton of cool cars, and great people...plus NO rain, so instead of *****in' about the bad, I'll focus on the good... again, it was a great weekend. Oh, and the chrome car was indeed paint... granted the car was goofy looking, but if the paint is any cheaper than real chrome plating, (which you can figure it would almost have to be...) the possibilities are endless for "chroming" stuff you never thought you could afford to chrome, plus you could do it yourself... I must have thought of 100 cool uses for that stuff...

I can't say I like it, but it sure was unique. I would think it would show bad bodywork worse then black.

I work for the museum artifact dsplay company and we use the chrome paint with candy or clear over it quite extensively. It's very durable and convincing looking. Also over $100.00 a quart. Would'nt do it on a whole car though.
