Maybe mine is Bopper if not a Bobber. 56 Panhead.
Lots of fun! Larry T knows it well! Larry has answered about a million questions on Bikes, Hot Rods, What If's and can make a bunch of pieces work togrther. Caffiene did the tank stripes over a year ago. I'll post an intro as time allows, but I had to jump in on this thread.

And I thought it was a chobber!
I posted this on a different thread the other day, but here's the first motorcycle I ever owned/built. It's a 47 EL Knuck with a XA springer and yes, I wish I had it back. (G) I've got a FXLRC daily rider and a 51 Pan I'm working on. Both of 'em "modified" a bunch but no pictures right now.

my ol 1913 model 9-E chain drive single speed twin. HD had yet to install a transmission or footboards (1914) yet. this was very scary to ride & a total bitch to start. but when i rode it up to the biker bar on sunday & parked alongside all the wanna-be poser fashion hogs, it got some attention!

wow, a '42 U, that is a rare year indeed! are you going to restore it? do you have the rest of the bike? btw, i have a '37U with about 90% of the '37 only parts collected so far to restore. motor, frame, forks, & wheels are done. have tanks, oil tank, & rear fender. still need correct front fender so i can start painting & assembling it. also have a finished '38UL that is about 95% correct & original and a '47UL bober project underway. it is made up of all the leftovers from various other projects.

This used to be my 47 Knuck. Pan jugs, Shovel pump, '31 VL frame, springer & bars. '42 tanks. I built it in the early 70's and sold it a few years ago...and still don't know why????
