Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 56 ford custom, Jul 19, 2009.

  1. Im building a 1927 model t coupe 60's drag style with spindle mounts in front,390 ford fe with 6x2,39 ford top loader, cage, artillery wheels in the back or radirs, model t tank in trunk.

If you can post pics here so i can get ideas that would be great. Also if you have any parts that would work for me please drop a line. Thanks

    39 tranny behind a 390 with 6x2's?

I would rethink that..... unless you have about 20 or so lined up like lemmings.

Seriously.... you will need a much stouter tranny behind the FE......even a stock FE.
If you want to troll gears..... look into a later 4 speed.

  3. I got the trans adapter, trans and a boxed a frame set up for the 390 and trans. So i guess i will get rid of the trans and adapter.

Just tryIng to save ya some grief...... that old (or fresh) 39 will not hold up against that FE.

  5. I didnt thini it would either. I just thought it was really cool.

  6. No pictures or ideas?

I was also wondering if i should go with a traditional front suspension and axle or suicide?

  7. Here's a vintage photo I've had in my files of Comp Coupes. I'll look for others on my shop computer.

and lowered, roll cage is a must, headers for more hourse power..... Umm thats all I got for now

  13. Thats an awesome car. Im going to run lime fire headers, chop the top but not over done, and not too low on the ride either.

you cant use frame horns with suicude front ends (can you??) We couldnt

  21. I dont think so, well atleast it wouldnt look right.

  22. Do a search for the Burbank Chopper's "Bad News" '27 coupe. Friggin cool with a 10" chop, channeled over a Z'd (front and back) Model A frame, pie crust slicks, Olds mill with 6 carbs, etc... Love those 'T coupes
