Re: Pics of gassers?? <HR style="COLOR: #e5e5e5; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #e5e5e5" SIZE=1>Anyone know this car?? Bought it 2 years ago in NJ. Before that, was from Cincinnati, I believe. The car was lettered just like this - know has a 351 Cleveland automatic, but appears to have had a FE.. 57 Olds rear,
Some gasser style street coupes, the first one was part of the S&S drag team in it's former life........
I have always loved this picture! Just something about the stance of the car and the look of "holy hell" from those kids. Larry
56 Fairlane. Sold it a couple years ago to a guy in the Florida keys, but it doesn't sit up Gasser style now.
My 49 Chevy, 455 Olds, 8.5:1 smog motor with a W31 stock grind cam, 3.73 gears, 200R4 Trans; 12.83 @ 100 MPH so far. I believe I can knock a few more tenths off with with some fine tuning.
A friend of mine sold that car to the guy in Cincinnati. He only had the car for a short time (I think a couple months). I tried to find out some history on the car but he didn't have alot of luck with it. I will see if he still has any info on it. Scott
I built this one 12 years ago, 66 Falcon wagon i got for nothing, Had a 6/71 blown 427 in it, Went really well. Not as high as some but we have a lot of bends here in the U.K. Ended up remaking every panel except the roof and rear quarters in GRP, It was pretty lightweight
I am still looking for information on this gasser from Ohio. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Here's mine.Pretty much old school,no gadgets,no trans brake, an Algon injected 455 Olds motor.Rear leaf springs and traction bars. Gregg
Thanks for posting those. The wagons are G-R-E-A-T.....There's just sumthin' about taking a car intended for "family use" and making a 1/4 mile monster out of it. I saw one on a trailer in the mid seventies and didn't think a whole lot about it, until he fired it up and backed it down.....that whoopaah, whoopaah, bbrraaappp, bbrraaappp, sound I will never forget. Awesome.
