My AV8 started out to be low bucks when I started collecting pieces in 1990. I bought a complete drivetrain out of a 1938 Ford for $100. The frame was given to me as was the radiator shell. I couldn't find an original body that was useable. Then I found a shop that would sell me a Brookville for $100 over cost. ($3300 1993 prices) I was right on tract until my wife got involved. Then came the cost over run. Lebarron Bonney interior (including rumbleseat), top, sidecurtains, etc.
After six seasons the $100 engine got tired and I bought a rebuilt flathead. So I'm into it for about $15K. Still not bad compared to what some spend and then don't drive. I'm starting my seventh summer and have just over 20K miles on it. 2000 so far this year.

Slamchop, that T of yours is the coolest Hot Rod I've seen in ages. That's the shit. I love the headrests, the '60s styling, everything man, it's totally wicked.

MAMASPURT, I think your last comment you made pretty much summed everything I thought. Good job kid, now build that budget beater.

right, tough guy... [IMG]seem pretty tough there baggin on my vw's sorry you don't want me to play in your sandbox. Would it piss you off that i also make money off the rich little honda guys because I know how to make there cars go fast and they dont know how to work on cars. So I charge them to hop up there rice motors, so I have money for my projects. Does that make me a bastard too nads because i touch a honda, I dont own a honda, just work on them. Lets bash me to your "friends" in some other threads. You must must hate yourself alot to come pick fights all the time. Why dont you come to sac and grab a beer sometime, I'll show you around. We can cruise the ve dub...You would be amazed at the betty's you would get, the ones with their teeth still in there mouth...truce man its all in fun, its sarcasm, loosen up, take it easy, learn early or die early...some people have to learn the hard way.

It's not your Vdubs, it's you. I love Vdubs, I've ever owned one. My pal Willie Wylde, yeah that Willie Wylde, who worked for Barris in the '50s has the most gorgeous chopped Beetle ever.
I have a Honda, it's a '94 Accord station wagon, I had an orgy in the back with female circus midgets, so I love Hondas too.
You can call me anything you want but you gotta know that the sweet ladies who raised us, i.e mommas, are off limits.
I'm glad we have an understanding, now quit being such a whiny bitch and order those bungs you homo.

Hey slamchop, I just noticed that bucket of yours isn't a T. Is it a chopped down '30-'31 model A sedan?

The body looks like one I found last year, I thought it was cool but Draglinks didn't wanna use it. It was beat to hell mind you.

    I love it.

Thats funny cause you pop off in everyone elses thread too. When you going to offer some great wisdom nads? 6,000 posts of err b.s. I'm trying to ask questions so that eventually I can post some answers around here...Yeah whiny little bitch, easy to say behind a keyboard...wouldn't say it somewhere else. When you talk about respecting you mother take some of the advise your mother gave you so you still have your teeth.

Ding ding ding, you don't know when to let it go. Quit being a tool. And speaking of advice from your mom.....well maybe not but Kenny Rogers will do... "you gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, knw when to walk away, know when to run" Now the last one just might be the one you want...

zman, Im not the one that that started this remember, so me run away, I dont think so. This was my thread. Someone started crap here where i'm trying to get info. they should leave. Yeah, I'll leave him alone..but I won't leave. Im here for a reason and the thread was cool until somone else stirred the pot by popping off at me like they do in every other thread. Need I link examples. read the thread from the begining my man. A coward runs, Im hear to learn but I will not stand here and take it every time some 110 lb. dork mouths off to me from his computer. Thanks for the pics and the info guys. Sorry for the drama, Im just a little too proud sometimes...

I think I have about $6000 in mine so far but that is a skewed number.

    A) Dad gave me the car. He's had it for 40 years. It's been in the barn since '69 when the flatty blew up. In the early 90s he started to street rod it but never finished it.

    B) I've had to undo some of the street rod stuff Dad did to it.

    C) Dad gave me a second engine after the first one locked up.

At this point it would have been cheaper to rip out all the IFS stuff and buy a new dropped axle setup OR trade Dad for his sbc frame with a 350 and I could have been driving it for the last 2 months. I've splurged on a few things too. Gennie Shifter and brake and the valve covers are the biggest ticket items aside from the tires.

I've been collecting parts for this ever since I finished my GMC. I am right about $3000 into it, and that includes parts not seen here like original 32 hood, roadster windshield, p/u bed, etc. It should be running/driving for under $5000.

I never paid attention to the back panel on your truck before - or maybe I've never seen it. Is it just a closed cab pickup panel cut down? The OG RPU panel has that wierd dogleg at the beltline. Henry Ford being how he was I wonder why they did it that way and not your way.
