Here's some pics showing how I extended the shifter up and forward. I don't have carpet yet so it's easy to see.

And some really lousy pictures of my pedals. I had a difficult time getting the camera far enough distance to encompass my pedal assembly underneath the floor. Hopefully you get the idea.

3 spd with Hurst shifter and then replaced with 5 spd...

 

I'd like a bit more clearance with my right knee, but it's liveable
