Built the ladder bars. I wanted to retain the "theme" of the car,so I build functional ladderbars but wanted them to resemble lift bars.

My original shock mounts wont work. Lakewood or CE dosent make the length I need in an eye/eye type.
So I had to change it to upper stem mount.
Kinda "hokey",havent decided if I'll just make a new upper shock mount.

They dont re-pop the 62-65 tail panel. So I got this one from a salvage yard. It's not the best of peices, but MUCH better than the one I have.
I'm having a shop hang the quarter panels for me,but to save on time,I'm doing the surgey to the tail panel.I think between the two,I can make one nice one.

Well,I got the spool, gear set and install kit.I sent the rearend out to have the gears set up.
So while I'm waiting on that,I worked on the tail peice some.
Seperated the two peices so I could remove the trunk peice still attached.

Had to cut out two sections of bad rust and fab up some filler panels

So yesterday I went to the Puyallup,Wa swapmeet.
I scored this early 60's Hurst ProMatic for 10bucks.
Im only going to use the case, because were running a glide w/brake.But it will still look right with the vintage case. Now of course I need to "restore" the case because its seen better days.
And for 80bucks I got these 2" bbc boat headers.Very little rust and never installed. I was going to change to a motor plate anyway. And Ill have to get crafty with the flange so they will fit right. But I really wanted symetrical headers and what better than boat headers.

Score!!!! those parts are going to fit right in with the look. Those headers are going to be bad ass, looks like the rear tubes come forward just for the set-back engine. For the cool visual!!!!

Brandon, nice build. I love the score on the shifter. Something like that is what I need for my '55. I fell in love with Chevy II gassers back in the '70s.

Are they going to stretch the wells or move them forward?

    Later,

    Mike

Well,we've decided that to have the right look,it will have the 'leaf spring with a wheel' attached wheelie bars.
But we will have flat black modern wheelie bars under the car also.
Gota remember, this car is for my girlfriend.
