Heres a few pics of my 32 five window i started build about a week ago even though ive been collecting parts for it for about a year! Heres the front side view, i had to add the front horns back to the frame, then i mounted up a stock firewall to lacate the cowl because there is no floor what so ever! i mean nothing, this car must have been channeled 6 inches, there were weld marks that high up on the inside of the cowl, and the sides were cut out for exhaust and the top was cut out for the induction system, sure would be neat to see what this thing has gone through! I have a few more pics to post also....

yeah i think i only have about 3000 into it, but i got alot of the suspension, front and rearend trans and i think a motor (a nailhead W/ six Twos) so not to bad, i like to patch up something that would otherwise be considered junk, and this was!!! lotsa welding grinding and mudding(if i feel like it) to do! and more money to spend. I get some more pics on here of it together this weekend Hopefully!

titus, Just had to reply to your project. It looks like you are wading into a pile of work and have a perfect attitude to get the job done. As a side note and not in any way make you feel bad but I couldn't resist making the comparison between your car and my '32 5w. IN the mid '70's I bought a Deuce 5w for the exact amount that you say you have in yours. It is a rust free (all steel) car with origional fenders, running boards (w/perfect covers), absolutely CHERRY grille and shell, hood, bumpers (perfect). The car had a new Borg Warner 4 spd. w/Hurst shifter and a dash full of curved glass SW gauges. The rear is a '57 Chev. 4.56 posi., and it has a REAL Mor-Drop front axle and uncut wishbone. The engine that was in the car was a CRATE 270hp, dual quad, Vette engine with less than 500 miles on it. The engine was sold about a week before I got the car for $200 because the previous owner said "nobody would want that old**************". I barely resisted the urge to choke him.
I didn't post this to brag, just to show what 25 years does to prices. It was 3/4 years before i admitted what I paid for that car, I just couldn't stand being made out to be a fool for buying it. Its still sitting waiting to be done, but its the one car I won't ever sell.

    Titus,
I have nothing but respect for rodders like you who can take next to nothing (no insult intended) and see it thru to a running, driving hot rod! Especially when you can do it on the cheap.

Best of luck and keep posting updates!

Thnaks for the compliments, i thinks its fun to polish a Turd (not literally)!!!
Its crazy how much the prices inceased, My dad tells me of storys of the cars hes boughten and i yell at him for not keeping them, like the 32 3-window that rolled that he bought for 200-300 dollars!! or the very nicelly chopped 33 3-window he bought for about the same, all he needed was the front crossmember for his Tudor then he sold it for what he paid [IMG] but that was normall back then.

Hey that is alot like what I started with. I have mine running and sort of driving for less than that. I just can't seem to spend more on a deuce grill n shell than I did for a built flatty and trans and all the brakes. So , well mine doesn't have all the sheet metal wich will more than double the money I in it so far.

It is fun build'n with stuff that most people call junk. The good part is ya can't screw it up.

Keep at it got a ways ta go, done good so far.

hey fab... just as an interesting aside, your three grand,****uming you spent it in 1975, is worth approximately $10,527 in today's dough, if you calculate it using this page...

if anyone remembers an ebay auction that was posted here from about ten months to a year ago, a cherry (and i mean, CHERRY) 32, 5 window i think, the body by itself went to 25-30k... so methinks you spent your money wisely.

Amen...you are a far better man than me and tuffer...can't wait to see what it turns out like!

Fab32, I can relate to the not admiting etc. to what you spent...I had nightmares thinking about the 5 grand in 87 money spent on my 50 merc...that was high for then but this was a true rust free painted once (and I am the third owner) car that has paid for itself a million times. Do not get me started on the money in the 32...yikes.

Titus, you are a true credit to our hobby - a builder of the first order! Thanks for the pics of this and your previous submissions and especially a belated thanks for your "dropped axle" tech posting. I loved it! Good luck on this project and like the other guys have mentioned, keep the updates coming! [IMG] Regards, Dave.
