  3. Recently bought myself a 29 A V8 after seeing it advertised on the wall at the local hot rod(tm) shop. Didn't really want or need a flathead powered A tudor but it sounded to good to not take a look.
It was bought as a running, driving, rust free stocker a few years ago by a gentlman whom wanted to build himself a stockish looking A tudor with a very traditional hop up.
The hop up started with a dropped 36 axle, 39-40 juice brakes, beautiful rebuilt 59A with a new mallory elec ign, two strombergs, new starter, 10in alum flywheel and accompanying rebuilt 39-3spd gearbox, the stock radiator was gone through and modified for the side valve mill.
This rust free body was beautiful prior to the resto, now it's had all the body work done and received a fresh coat of lacquer (washington blue?) on the body, fenders, hood, splash aprons etc. All of the side, door gl*** is new and installed with new regulators, seals, felts etc as is the door hardware. It has all new wood. The seat springs are all nice and clean and the top upholstery was started but not completed.
The stock diff was rebuilt and the frame sandblasted and painted, the front and rear axles both have reversed eye springs, It's got all new drums, brakes, kingpins, and four brand new blackwall 600-16 firestone deluxe champs mounted up on powdercoated ford wires.
He's perfect o.g. headlights on the stock bar, dash with guages, bumpers, V8 exhaust and lots of other little parts locked away in the ba*****t in a warm room where the fenders etc are all covered in sheets.
In boxes are new repro spindles with dropped steering arms and tons of small parts. pieces, nuts and bolts etc that I will have to go through.
I think he lost intrest when the tie rod wouldn't clear the split bones as that seems to be where he stopped. The steering is not hooked up but the car came with a nice A box, column and wheel aswell as a F1 column and box and a rebuilt mustang box with the bracketry to attach it to the A ch***is.
At this point I've arranged to leave the car where it is until I can find room for it at home. I plan to just let it sit until my 34 pu is on the road as I really don't want to loose sight of the one that I'm really excited about.

  4. That's EXACTLY what I would like to find! Wow- super cool project, great find.
