Here is how I mounted the hood. I welded nut plates behind the cowl and grill shell. I then welded four small tabs to the hood in all 4 corners. I picked up these vintage 1/4"x20 wing studs at a thrift store and used 4 of them to fasten the hood. It's very solid and works well.

Great hood mounting idea. Clean and functional.... a lot like the rest of the car.
And yeah, more pics would be good!

Hello my name is Charlie Kremer and i am the proud owner of the Rushmore Special. I have a few questions if you would be so kind to help. How much chop is on the windshield? What is the exact color you used on the paint? I bought the car about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. The only difference between your photos and now is it has Edelbrock heads and Ford wire wheels now. Thanks so much. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Man ten years old and looking gooooood!

I'm no help with the windshield height but throw a tape measure on it and we can compare it to a stock one easy enough for ya I’m sure.

19-C who started this thread hasn't been on the site in about 5 months. Randy Gribble, who owns Lake City Rod & Custom in Watertown, South Dakota might be a good contact to track him down (he mentions Randy in an earlier post) although I think I heard Randy may have retired. A search still brings up his shop.

As far as your windshield chop, there were two different stock sizes used in 30-31 - one for the Standard model (fairly rare) and one about 2 inches shorter on the Deluxe model (much more common). Nice looking car, sounds like you're enjoying it!! 19-C might enjoy knowing it's present status!!

Here's a windshield pic from an old catalogue.
