Sorry, I know y'all are prolly sick of seeing these pics of dad's 36 C gasser, but we don't have a lot of pics. I need to dig through the attic and see what I can find.

Pickups didn't generally get used as much as the pass cars, due to weight transfer. Occasionally they did get hopped up though.

Post up pics of you have of pickup gassers. Come on @loudbang , don't let me down.

I love the truck man, the chop height, the stance, it's cool as hell. I just wish we could hear what she's saying to him with those hands in her hips :D

Or "how much did that cost" ;) but then again it might be "you really need to leave a little harder next round, stop babying it!" o_O

No, you are right. He moved the firewall to where the dash was. Whatever the max allowable was, it what he opted for.

It wasn't too bad. I wouldn't want to drive across country in it, but 1320 ft is comfy enough.
Look at the pics with the doors open, you might be able to get a feel for it.

So, here's the story of the truck in a nut shell. Grandpa bought the truck new in 36, gave it to dad in 55. He drove it through high school, graduated in 57. Drove it 2 years to college, tried racing it while he went to college and gave up on that idea, so maybe 1959ish.

A faded pic prior to the engine setback but injected. Looks like he was thinking about a recess though.

If you look at the center console in the pic with the door open, you will see the Mopar push button shifter.

He ran a Torqueflight tranny behind the injected sbc. It even had a little lockout lever on it. Pretty ingenious for the day.

The other day he told me I should put it back to it's former glory and put it back on the track. He gonna be 82 on Tuesday.

Surely, there are other pics???? Not just me talking to myself.
