Anyone got pics of the brackets used to mount the split wishbones to the frame, in particular on a Model A? I'm running a 4" dropped axle with 34 split bones, and to achieve 6 or 7 degrees caster I have 6" of gap from the bottom of the frame to the center of the bone. I dont want to piecut the bones because I dont like the look of them not being parallel to the ground, so I'm after ideas to make the long brackets look better. I have a pair of Speedway brackets, but they're too short, and they're quite flimsy. Thanks, Marty.
Marty, what rake do you have in the frame? I set mine up so that the only rake is in the rubber, about 1.5-2 degrees. As a result,my brackets are only 3 1/2 inch from the frame to the centre of the rod end. This gives me a caster setting of 6 degrees, without cutting the 'bones.I moved them in-board as well to give the impression of un-split 'bones. Axle is Mor-Drop,about the same drop as yours.Wishbones are late thirties,I think. Watch your scrub line if using longer brackets. Hope this helps. Mark
Whats the angle of your cross member . That should be close to 7 .Hang smaller brackets on rear .Pie cut bones at axle end .And reweld , EVERYHING SHOULD BE ABOUT 7 DEGREES at ride height . 7 degrees back at king pin angle
