The problem is, you only need to copy the bit up to (but not including) the Question Mark. Like this... [ img]http://photo.starblvd.net/~deuce/t1-1-5.jpg[ /img] You also forgot the "http://" bit. Great photo.
hey, ask yer dad who painted the '57 in that picture(with the paint that was supposed to go on his gto).
Is "yer dad" referrin' to Mr. Crump? or KnR's dad? I'd like to know who painted it. Specially if it's one of Mr. C's old buddies that I may know. He and his pals were the ones that got me into all this mess. My dad couldn't care less about old cars.
it's k&r's dad's car(that he still owns). that picture was probably taken in '78 or '79. a friend of mine was going to paint it but was having trouble with his spray gun. i came by the shop about that time and cleared up the problem with the gun and was about to hand it back to him ,when he said why don't you shoot it, so i did. the guy in the picture is k&r's dad, i've known him since early grade school.
Cool. I knew that wasn't Gary, but wasn't sure that it was an owner/ car picture. It's early still, I'll wake up soon.
i can't believe a post called pictest got this many views, maybe i'm not the only one that couldn't post pictures? also thanks to k&r for the trip back in time.
Glad to be of service deuce. Glad you sorted it out because that's a real nice Deuce Coupe you got there. I like both versions of it. Does the earlier one have striping along the swage line, or is that just a trick of the camera?
Dutchman, That's awesome! I remember you guys flying past me then slowing up and you poked out the window and shot the photo. I was having a boatload of transmission trouble (broken tailshaft housing) on the way home and I had to baby it to get it home. Thanks for sharing the pic and hope to meet you in person at some point.
brootal, the car is striped in both pictures, it just doesn't show up in the later picture very well.
Hey OG! I'll be in and around L.A. and O.C. from Sept.30 to Oct.20... Goin' to the Hot rod reunion, NHRA Twilight cruise, Pomona swaps, Bonneville, Donut Derelicts, Long Beach swapmeet, etc. etc.... Who knows, maybe I'll spot your ride somewhere! C-ya! Maurice.......
thanks ec, i always thoght it had that early sixties grainy look to it. here's another one from that day, i don't own it anymore.
wow, what was so hard about that ? last time i tried i couldnt make the pic small enough. here's another of my old lincoln.
Nice pics gang, the Linc looks particularly sinister shot at that time of day when everything around it is getting dark. Love the deuce, looks great then and now, with stock height top. That old grainy look can be easily achieved by using a slowish shutter with wide open aperture. Be careful not to overexpose too much tho. When doing this, I use a high speed film around 800ASA (it his naturally more grainy than slower film) and overexpose by one stop. A sepia filter (not too dark) also helps. May not be how it's taught at camera college, but I take pics like I build cars, however and whatever feels right at the time.
