[ QUOTE ] coming from a fellow American owner, that car is DISGUSTING.... [/ QUOTE ] Ah, a little paint (pie pan flakes), some stick out tires on the back....it'll be buttiful.
i've seen the interior in person and it's really nice...i think with some meat on the back and it's upcoming paint job,it'll be a neat car
[ QUOTE ] coming from a fellow American owner, that car is DISGUSTING.... [/ QUOTE ] Come on now - ALL Ramblers are beautiful I had a 65 220 2dr with black primer front fenders on a white car in 1980 before primer was cool I never could get a chick to ride in it (my own mother refused to be seen it) PS - Rocky what was your best time in that beauty??
hahahahhaha I love how the ramblers have a LOVE/HATE affect on people... I loved mine at the drags...especially when I kicked rockys ASS!!! It RULED... and that car has alot of potential! but thats just me... Tuck
No, wait.........I think I've made a mistake or 2. Uhhhhhhh, the 10.67 was refactored to a 24.something. And now that I remember back a little, I guess Tuck did eventually beat me with his 65....In fact, he beat me every pass at the 1/4 mile but once I kicked his ass in the 1/8th.
10.67 on the bottle with the flathead 6... Oh Hell Yes!!! Now that gives me wood!!! See everybody - these are diamonds in the rough
she might look i little funny now, but just wait for the metal flake paint, wide tires, and the 350 i just finished goes in. and as far as picking up chicks, i just got my seats back, thats right keepin them bench beauties in just for the ladies....
Lostparts, that post about your bench seat reminded me of the song "Bench Seat" by Fred Eaglesmith.. Its all about Benchseats and chics.. You would dig it...
[ QUOTE ] You had me until I saw 350...... Brootal, back me up.., Keep 'er all AMC.... [/ QUOTE ] You took the words right out of my mouth. Obviously can't handle the power of an AMC V8. BTW, that snorkel sure as shit ain't no "AMC thing". Looks more like a Mopar or Ford offering. Quite scary how many Rambler owners there are popping up around here. Brootal - The ORIGINAL Rambler owning Hamber.
You go man. That thing is gonna' be real cool all gasser'd up. As I'm not really an Rambler type of guy, what are you running for a motor in her?
[ QUOTE ] GEE Brootal I thought that was a Valiant (lol) [/ QUOTE ] LOL. Didn't your Mum ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say... DON'T. You don't say anything for a year, probably lurking around like a sewer rat, chasing all them inbred chicks in that hick town you live, THEN, you have the nerve to come on here and call the World's fastest/coolest/ginchiest Rambler A VALIANT!?!?!? Hi. Nice to see you back.
Hey brootal Almost sold the EK last week, had a guy chasin it and I had a 70 Dodge Phoenix orginised for $3500 BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN NOW SO ITS BACK TO THE SATIN BLACK. Hows thw big Rumbler goin??, Rippers moved down this way now so I,m no longer alone, his shiny yellow pickup looks O so kool down here with the mozzie covered front end
Lostparts - youre keeping the fold down seat you Must keep the motor AMC-how about a 304-360-390-401 all the same block, will shoe horn in there right nicely, I saw some down at spring rod run in your body style, hell it was even a factory option. If you have any questions let me know my boy is a AMC-Jeep guru and can tell you what you need to build a motor to make it run like a gasser not just look like one. EL rusto, do you have anymore pics?
hey dixiedog, thanks for the imformation offer. but i'm a small block chevy fan, with shelves for carbs, intakes, and headers, for those type motors. at this point in my life i'm kind of sticking with what i know.
Brootal You're right about leaving the AMC V8 in. Yea MOPAR did a snorkel lookin thing in the late '60s or early '70s. But it seems to me that AMC did a Red White and Blue bodied thing with the same snorkel lookin thing about the same time. I'm probably wrong, anyway I never liked 'em when they were cool. Its kinda like going to the Nostalgia Races and seeing an old Willies with a prostock bump back by the windshield. I know ya gotta get air in but it just aint right. BTW LostParts build it the way ya like it. The name of the game is run what ya brung.
The snorkel hood thingy came on a special edition called the "Rebel Machine" around 70 or so. I think they also had the same type of scoop on the SC/Rambler in the late 60's. Both were white with red and blue stripes. The SC/Rambler actually had a red, white and blue interior. Ramblers were cool - I had a 65 Classic for a first car, plus a 68 Rebel rag top, and a 81 Concorde. All were cheap, and incredibly reliable cars. The 65 was cool in that the whole interior folded down into a bed!! This was a throwback to the old Nash days.
