Love the whole group, esp. the 2nd/last one......almost makes me want to go back out to the garage and do some more sanding/blocking on my '57! Really would like the wagon in the first pic if the wood was deleted. Looks like a bad photoshop addition.
It does look a little off. I'm not a big fan of the surfboard either. That has been done to much. Still like it though.
Offhand I'd say someone whacked the **** out of a 4 door Customline in a feeble attempt at a home-brewed T-bird.
It's VERY ugly, don't think that spoiler helped at all. I stumbled across that pick in a thread about shortened cars on the main board. Google the term and you'll come across many fine examples of what not to do to a cl***ic.
I've got a friend who has a '55 Chev Cameo that was a longbed. He shortened a longbed stepside and replaced the fibergl*** Cameo bed with it. Also shortened the wheelbase 12". Looks great. That's about the only shortened car/truck I've seen that looks right. I suspect after finding out what he started with, there are alot more on the road that we just don't notice because they are in fact done right. I never did ask him about it, but I thought the Cameos were the "hot" chev to have.?? Agreed, that spoiler looks totally out of place. LOL...gotta laugh...at one time I had considered trying to work in a really subtle spoiler on my '57. So many told me there was no way it could ever be done to look right that it almost made me try to do it. I love a challenge.
