Are you using a web-based photo site like Flickr or Photobucket?

You might be trying to upload photos that are too big. Try to resize them and try it again.

  5. My question is how to upload photo so that they are viewed large. All I get are the small postage size ones?

This is how I post pictures.
If the picture is too big, you can use Photoshop, to shrink the pictures. There should be free downloads of Photoshop on the internet if you google it.
In Photoshop, click on image, then image size. when the box pops up, width should be highlighted in blue, change it to 750 and then save the pic where you want it. That size will load into the H.A.M.B.

Unless you're planning to do some serious photo editing, downloading Photoshop is really overkill. And any free version of Photoshop you download is likely to be a "trial version" that will only be activated for maybe 30 or 60 days.
There is other software available, often for FREE, that is simpler and more intuitive for resizing pics for web display.

Do you have any photo browser software that came with your digital camera? Canon cameras, for example, usually come with a utility called ZoomBrowser that also does batch resizing.

Or you could download Google's Picasa software for FREE. I've not used the more recent versions of Picasa but most jobs are pretty intuitive, it's a good image browser and organizer and has a nice selection of basic editing tools.

I use Irfanview which is also freeware. It has a little steeper learning curve but I like some of the other features it has.

Downsize your images in advance to something like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 pixels. They'll be big enough to show up good in the forums and they'll also upload faster to Photobucket or whatever image hosting service you use.
