You can't help but meet great people when you get involved in hot rodding. I have been fortunate to meet some of the best my home state of Maine has to offer. Often these people are key in getting things done on your project; Frank Lamb is one of those people. I met Frank at a bi-annual gathering at another Maine hot rodder's house.. Frank wanted to buy some parts I had .. so we met up a few weeks later and the rest is history. I am a green-horn with skills centered around computers. Frank is a seasoned mechanic and engine builder from a ways back. We bartered our skills and helped each other out. I sold some parts for Frank on-line and cleaned up his Pc.. Frank built my transmission, pressed in and honed some bushings on my spindles etc. I feel that I got the better end of the deal.. so when Frank asked me to post for him on the HAMB .. I was happy to oblige. Frank built a pickup some years ago and he wants to know if anyone out there has seen it. It was last known to reside in Florida. The truck is borderline Hamb friendly .. so I also snagged a few pictures of rides from Frank's past to spice things up a bit. If anyone knows what happened to the Tonka truck..please PM or email me. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Thank you Frank for all your help.
Can you ask him if the dash was red velvet or red crushed velvet? i had owned a suicide doored 34 ford pick up it had a drilled wishbones that were chrome at sometime..when i got the truck the guy gave me a pair of wide fiberglass rear fenders.it didnt have the bed on it.also,it had some kind of Ford steering box maybe a Mustang?go here and the flat black truck with the red wheels is the one i am talking about.these pics were takin in Dec03...PM me if this looks familiar...and i am in Florida,West Palm Beach that is where i go the truck. here is a pic of it before i traded it off. http://www.salvagerz.com/photoalbums/First Cruise/firstcruise.html
here is another....i really think its the same truck.mine had a double plate for holding down the front spring, which i ended up putting on top of the plates...of course i made changes to it like channeled it painted the inside white..like i said the dash when i got it was velvet red. Also,as a side note i do know who owns it now...
Oh crap... Just had an acid flashback I'v got a soft spot for those 70's customs... Is that wrong? I dont care, I like 'em!
I will drop in and visit Frank sometime this week.. will find out if the truck is "the one" Thankyou.. Hodad
