Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing trouble with pictures loading in a rotated position from what they are in my files? I have had this happen three times. I was able to correct them in my albums but dont know how to correct them in postings.
That means the images are stored on your computer in the wrong rotation - even if they appear to be correct. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
"That means the images are stored on your computer in the wrong rotation - even if they appear to be correct." I am NOT believing that!
I don't know of any other explanation. It's not possible for the uploader to rotate anything... I'm sure there is another explanation that I can't think of however.
Go to your camera settings menu and look for something like "Auto Rotate Photos When Downloading". Maybe switch this feature on or off and see it might make any difference with your next batch of pictures. Also, this auto-rotation information can sometimes be removed from the image when editing, cropping, resizing, and/or uploading. Have you changed any of these processes lately from what you had been doing?
I think you'll find that most cameras, by default, tend to download photos in "landscape" mode. That's where the image is wider than it is high. At least I feel safe stating that about cameras that are only cameras and not built into a cell phone or tablet. If you're shooting with the camera in the normal "landscape" position, your picture will probably automatically download with the proper "landscape" orientation. But if you rotate the camera 90 degrees to shoot in "portrait" mode, where the image is higher than it is wide, your pics may still download in the "landscape" mode and be 90 degrees out of whack. By setting your camera to "Auto Rotate Images" for downloading, a sensor in the camera detects which way it's turned when you take a picture. When you download the image it will rotate it, if needed, to keep everything right- side-up. But as I mentioned before, sometimes this "Auto Rotate" information can be stripped from the image when editing or uploading to the web.
"Sometimes they will be rotated if sent by a phone , don't know why." I think it is this in my situation. I re-took the pictures that were rotated with my camera rather than my phone and when I loaded them on my for sale ad, they were fine.
