well i got back late last night from Winfields workshop, i stayed an extra day and worked in his shop with him on monday. if you have thought about taking one of his workshops i suggest you do, it really is amazing at the amount of knowledge you can learn in just two days. its really worth it just to watch him work if anything, and he is the nicest guy you will ever meet. i also got to ride in the Strip Star i have video of it, so when i can figure out how to post that i will. The Thing Mabalean The Reactor The Strip Star
WOW!!! I need to do that too. That has to be the coolest "yard shot" I have ever seen, a whole row of chopped Mercs....
it was a 51 merc 4-door turned into a 2-door, he chopped it 3 inches and put a 49 merc rear window in it
he didnt get into anythign like that, but im sure he would have if someone had asked heres a shot of the steering wheel in Mabalean
Damn...my old merc sure looks like hell! (40 with the carson top) I really need to do this one of these days before its too late!!!
Money well spent. Gene is one of the koolest guys in the biz that I have met. I am going to try his next class I believe in November. I would pay the couple of hundred bucks any day to learn the stuff that he teaches you. KNUX!
i think like 4 or 5 out of the 20 mercs he had there were fiberglass, most of them were steel they just are all primered the same color and i forgot to mention that he had a film crew there filming the whole class for a video workshop that hes going to start selling in the couple of months. so if you cant make it to one of his workshops it would definitely be a good investment to buy his video.
Cool, thanks for the info. I'll be lookin' out for the video since I live too far away to make the classes.
his next class in Mojave is in november, but he does workshops in other states now, i just dont know the dates oh and i forgot to mention he signed my dash
Was any of the class hands-on for you, or were you only watching Gene work? With something like leading, I'd imagine you'd want to practice right away to see if you could replicate his technique.
some of it was hands on, the leading was one of them, once i got my hands on the paddle and torch thats all i wanted to do for the rest of the class
