WOW! great Pics! I see the "Rigor Mortis" '53 Ford was there,I have pics of it as my screensaver,any idea what times it ran? I saw a post yesterday on the main board wondering why they see very few G***ers running,looks like they were well represented at Beaver.
Great pictures Jim. OK, I gotta ask what is that car in pictures 34 & 36. Looks like a Vega got caught between an early Vette & a '59 Cadillac in a three car pile-up.
Well that is one very fast 283 Chev injected car ! It's a Chev Vega with a Corvette front end and a 59 Cadillac tail section . Say what you want but is was real fast ! They also had a VW bug with a 59 tail section to that ran very late as we were leaving . They were also the same crew that ran the 59 Chev Old Crow . Good looking cars ! There were 3 Angles there that were the fastest , ran in the high 9's . Don Moyer pretty much stole the show with his HUGE wheel stand but the twin engine rail with the Hem's was a beast ! He did get one decent run with the wheels smoking about 3/4 the way down the 1/4 mile ! There were a very good group of g***ers of all kinds there from the Jersey G***ers . Most ran the 11's & 12's , some were faster but most ran those times . I had a very good time and the wife enjoyed her first time at a live event ! I was really happy to see all the great drag machines that I grew up wanting to build and drive one day . I did have a chance back in 73 or 74 but the first wife messed that up . I did have a 69 Super Bee I did race mostly on the street and did some track time but th first wife made me get rid of that too . BTW about 10 months later she took a trip too ! Now I am happily married to a great lady of 27 years now and know abut my sickness for cars . She really doesn't mind it at all and wishes we had more money to put into them ! My favorite was the Vermanator , Falcon . That car was very fast with a BB Ford build up 460 ! Beautiful car ! There was also some other really good Fords there too ! I was going to use my 49 Ford as a parts car for my 50 Ford to build but then maybe I will just drop in a fun Ford smallblock an=d have some fun . I have an extra engine so will see what happens in about 2012 or so . Glad you enjoyed the pictures ! Jim
Wish I'd would have know your were coming. My computer has been down and I can only get on at work. Any way I had my father inlaw 55 out trying to sell it now that my 54 is gone. I love the Drags it been such a great event.
