    Hi,
I am currently putting a budget '32 Roadster together and she's sitting fairly low on 16'' steels ...does anybody have any inspirational pictures of 31 / 32 Roadsters or similar that are low but not silly low on '32 rails ?

Fully bonneted would be my preference but anything will be great....

    Thank you in advance
    Gary

There's one here in Oz which would meet your criteria. Built by Al Fountain from north of Sydney. Runs full "bonnet" and has a 440 for motorvation. Top quality car which has done lots of miles.Been on the road a few years now.

Sorry don't have pics and can't post them if I did. PM X38 as he's closer to Al and may be able to help. Even Jimmyb would probably have pics of the car.

  6. Yes it's low alright, seen it many times. There is at least one pic of it on the HAMB, possibly in the favorites Deuces thread, I think Brootal posted it. There was a mag article on it 8 -10 years back. I'm pretty sure it was z'd in the rear.

Pretty sure it's not running 16s though.

Flatoz's is definitely on 16s and is low enough that it required a C-notch on the rear.

    Gary,
My roadster is a 28/29 but is on 32 rails and is probably "stupid low" but I drive it all the time and you just need to be careful over speed bumps and drive way enterences. If you want to run low then you need to build your car with nothing below the bottom of the frame rails and run pretty stiff springs. I have added some 1/8 inch alum strip to the bottom of my frame rails in the areas that scrape. As you can see from the pic the car is "in the weeds" actually grass in this case. The pic was taken at Pleasanton a couple of weeks ago and I drove there from my place in Santa Rosa. Ride is a little stiff but the look is perfect. (anyway I like it!)
