My boss who is retiring next month has a pierce arrow. So instead of the usual plaq, we were thinking of getting him something Pierce arrow related.. Anyone have any ideas or directions???
easy...go to google and search for " pierce arrow club" ....there is always a club for any make of car the first result of your search will be this: http://www.pierce-arrow.org/ go to website..click on products..make sure you also click on gifts and pewter products the bumper badge looks nice , i also like the pierce arrow wine glasses...but the pierce arrow neck tie is tacky . the pierce arrow book i would assume he already has hope this helps
Thanks for the ideas, guys.. I've come to find out nothing on these cars are cheap. I don't know what year/model he has, but he might have some stuff for sale. He goes to hershey every year to sell stuff. I'll ask.
Check the AACA Forum, and don't forget the Antique Studebaker Club - Studebaker owned Pierce-Arrow during the 20' & 30's. They let them in at Stude meets.
Umm...No, not quite as expensive as a Dusenberg or Packard, but pretty high $$$ How about a model of it (if available) or a nice print or similar?
There is a great guy in Great Britian, Guy Allen, he does a bunch of auto related prints and takes commisions. He does a cartoon in Octane Magazine. Don't know how much scratch you all are trying to get together, but it will probably run you a couple grand to do a commision. His prints are reasonable though, and you can get them through his studio http://www.guyallen-art.com or Octane's print dept. http://www.octaneprints.com Also try this site, I have found some nice stuff browsing http://www.thetreesblurpast.com/artphotography.html
Found this on the Art and Auto site site http://www.arteauto.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2020. Don't know where they are, but it is worth a look.
Right here in the B-lo we have the Pierce Arrow Museum. I haven't been there (don't know why, maybe I should go ) but they have a website: www.pierce-arrow.com. They might be able to help you out with ideas and/or prints.
Studebaker merged with Packard, not Pierce. Pierce Arrows were built right here in Buffalo,NY, and the factory is still on Elmwood Ave.-MIKE
There are a few dealers out there who specialize in old stock certificates. A framed P/A stock certificate would be neat and probably not too much $$$$$.
you got it one, expensive when new,and will always be expensive. one of the top six most expensive cars in their day. How about a Peirce Arrow pedal car rssto project...yours for a mere $10,000.... http://www.juvenileautomobiles.com/pedal_cars.htm
I didn't say they merged. Studebaker OWNED Pierce-Arrow for awhile before selling it. They also OWNED other auto makers throughout history. Check it out.
