Yep, its a Bocar.

A Bocar went over the edge at Pikes Peak once.

( I heard that story from a guy who raced one at Bonneville..)

It's a total riot. Mountain shuts down from the top down according to time, the one night of the year you can camp on the mountain even.
Was there this year, on the mountain at 4am, race started at 9am

I have never been to the race been up Pikes peak many time. You would have to have huge brass balls to do that race. Very cool

 

From a local, it's always a great time...They shut down downtown the night before the race and they have moto cross guys doing huge jumps right downtown along with all of the racecars and what not...you can check out the cars and meet the drivers..
Of course the most bizarre story was the attempted suicide on pikes peak last year...
My buddy worked up there and said the girl in question that this was all about, worked in the gift shop up there...The kid drove his car off the mountain, fell 1000 feet and lived...
