Hey y'all, I am finally done with the Motor/Trans & they're going in this weekend along with a spring under axle conversion on the front end to get it sitting right. BUT, as far as the look of the truck and it being a rolling billboard, I have been going over and over about how I want it painted and what weels/tires to use & I am asking y'all to help out & give me some ideas. All I know is that it is that it will have the logo goldleafed with a black outline and anything else goes.
hey Jeff.. if you put the springs under the axle, be prepared to battle some serious bump steer... I moved the steering box to the top of the frame in my 60... I'll post some pix? Nice panel BTW.
Jeff. How about a 2 color on it like it is in the pic. I would go black and a light gold or pewter color. The black being on the top and bottomand the other color in the middle. KNUX!
How about a light 2 tone. White w/ bronze in the middle to break it up. Do the lettering black. KNUX!
I had to move the motor up for axle clearance. Bent the crapola out of the tierod to make it fit too... This setup worked good, the axle would hit the frame.. but it didn't bother me. Then OGNC went an fucked it up with a Mustamg II.....
I like the colors that are on it, just as they are or maybe just reverse the positions of them, and use the tan color on the wheels.
all black primer with the red wheels, come on no question! hahaha. cool panel tho. you going to be coming to any more tuesday night Village Idiot shindigs?
Killer: Thanks for the pics. I cant believe Courney put a MII in that thing after all the fab work you did! what a bummer... I think I am just going to throw some of the 4 1/2" mono springs in it. they're in Anaheim, so I can go and just pick them up and get them in. Lowcab, I am DOWN with the DONK, but it would be justtoo hard to get the bikes in & out... Plus I would probably get shot for them 30" wheels when I deliver bikes to the shops in LA 133: you'll be seeing me up there on Tuesdays after SEMA, so the week after next. I hopefully will have this on the road by then Come on Guys keep the paint ideas comin' I am thinking that maybey it will get some heavy flake & a few scallops with different logo grafics... I also am thinking about some Chrome Reverse or supremes
not bad. for now I think I am going to Primer it in Red Oxide and Tan and let the graphics guy go crazy on it with whatever he wants
Some Ideas. Lower it. A little chop. Wide whites. Simple logo and name, low key with some style. Add some graphics.
OK this may be a little over the top, But if its a shop truck like mine I send a lot of time in it and I think those were a little hard to get into and see out of so I did this. After I did this I was thinking Radirs would look better but I dont have a good pic to borrow them from. this is what I did: Stretch the door added a quarter window shortened the front wheel well a little I was thinking one of those exhaust cutouts behind the front wheel would look cool as well.
HATMAN, that scallop job fucking RULES! yeah, it a coffin for sure. you cant see shit out of it, so the chop is out of the question for sure, but I got a rear view camera out of a wrecked RV last time I was at the junk yard, so I can actually see out of it & lowering it that low, the pumpkin will come right through the floor since they are lower that the trucks... but i am going to get it as low as I can & use some helper bags out back.
Hat Man, that is some very good work. When I first looked at it I was going to suggest a little change, but the longer I looked at it, the more I like it the way it is. The gold wheels really set it off as well. J.
I was thinking the same about not seeing out my panel at first, but you get used to it, just make sure you use the "right" mirrors.
Here you go fag... I'm thinking bring the bumpers in closer, shave the handles and the stinkin' badges, lower it, paint the inners of chromed steelies, apply a set of spider caps and lakes pipes...done
