Since everyone else was sharing their experience I figured I would give a recap on everything that led up to the show and give some pictures of the awesome weekend. I should start by telling everyone that I have been working on my latest car in a somewhat secret fashion (no build thread). About a year and a half ago I stumbled across a project I couldnt p*** on. Here she is when I first got ahold of her. I then sourced what I thought was a decent coupe body and started getting serious about building a car. this is what she looked like just after the body was resting on the frame and the flathead was in her. well after a year or so of building and wrenching here she was ready to go to the roundup its always been one thing after another with this car (not that it isnt expected). about a week before roundup I took her on the maiden voyage down the highway. the little flathead was purring and I was shifting through the gears on the t-5. I hit 5th gear going about 60-65 and without warning both rear tires locked up. 3 360's later, my girlfriend and I hopped out of the car that parked its self in the middle turn lane of the highway. I thought my rodding days were over after that. turns out the old ball and chain was not stirred too bad and we got the car up on a flatbed and headed home. With the roundup a week away I had to get a new rear end thrown in. this is where the mad dash begins. I overnighted brackets and ripped the old rear end out. With help from a buddy (big thanks to Daniel!) we got the new brackets on and the rear end back in the car. It is now the Tuesday before roundup and I'm taking the car out to get the bugs all sorted. get hopping along the road and notice a knock coming from the ******. well it turns out that 5th gear, which is on the main output shaft of a t-5, got all kinds of chewed up when the rear end locked. I hop back over to my buddy's shop and we put another t-5 in the Thursday before roundup. (again big thanks to Daniel!) get into Austin about 4 in the morning on Friday and get a couple of hours of sleep before waking up for the garage crawl. I had a bunch of family come down for the roundup and I wanted them to get the full experience. about 7:30AM we head out for the speedshop. I am in the coupe with the girlfriend and my dad and uncle decide to follow in the tudor. halfway there I begin to overheat. I pull over at the drivers licence office on Lamar to diagnose the problem. A blown fuse, no biggy. Jump across the street to the gas station and pickup another fuse. So I head back out and suddenly there is no clutch! pedal all the way to the floor but nothing happening. luckily this happened in the parking lot. well the garage crawl is now a no go. get back to my dads house in Austin and we pull the ****** to get to the hydraulic throw-out bearing. turns out the line was getting bound up and loosened. spent all day repairing that and putting in a new fan (old one didn't like fuses too much) Well all of Friday was shot. Friday night my cousin flew in all the way from Wyoming where he is going to school for hot rodding. We all just hung out on congress and rested up for Saturday when the real party started. Saturday morning we hop in the cars and head out to the expo center. She makes it the whole way there without a problem. Here is a picture of myself next to the red coupe and my cousin next to the tudor he drove all weekend. After the show we headed out to the speedshop party then Congress in the cars just to hang out. The coupe did awesome from then on out and I could not have asked for it to run any better! Here is a picture of most of us hanging out on Congress at about 2 in the morning Saturday night.

Kid, and say what in a good way, you and your Cousin are very fortunate, to enjoy one of the greatest hobbies in the world. Love your work ethic , and pride in outcome of your hard work. Two years ago, we drive two 14 hour days in OT 91' Olds CC Wagon to son,s Graduation from Boot Camp in Fort Sill OK. Spend two days w/Him. Head out Fri Nite to LSR. get in Austin Hotel, at 3:00 am, after only getting stopped once by Law Dog. Wife is up and ready to be at Fairgrounds by 7:30. Meet her Brother who works at Fort Hood. Had Blast. Think i,ll keep her Your girl must be great also. Thanks for Progress/LSR update.
Awesome knobs man! definitely one of the best features of my car sounds like you have a keeper. its getting harder and harder to find one that can keep up with this crazy hot rod life style. Thanks!
Thanks man! I love that design. When I first saw it I thought it was cool as hell. It came out nice on the knobs.
