Now that I have your attention.................... SHOW YOUR BOXES and tell us what types of brushes, paint, or anything related you have in them.

I just picked up a box and am starting to teach myself the art and was interested in what everyone else uses for boxes, brushes, and paint. Will be posting pics of mine once I start on it, its an old steel tackle box with an eagle or phoenix embosed on all 4 sides. It is hip top and both tops fold out with shelves perfect for storing brushes and such with plenty of room in the bottom for my ONE SHOT.

Okay I'll bite. I use an rather old craftsmen toolbox I got a long time ago at christmas. It works. Also go check out the Hambstripers group on here. There is a thread there on the subject. No pics too lazy for now, but I keep what every other pinstriper keeps in his box. Paint, brushes the usual. I keep paper towels, cups and tape.

an old card catalog cabinet. with about 100 partial rolls of various stripe tape (from years of collision repair). real pinstriping is an art that i believe i will never posess, i admire it, and true talent shows, but unfortunatly for me so does no talent.

It was my grandfathers and I'm not sure what he used it for, I did one of my first pieces on the top using what I still do today, one shot paints and mack brushes

I guess the reason you aren't getting more action is that this has been a topic of a bunch of threads asking the same question.

I also did the mural on the wall behind the lid but i cant take original credit. It was originally a painting by skateboarder steve caballero.

Any pictures of your work bigd4xman? Dont be shy....my stripes are far from perfect... :)

I use a little steel craftsmen tool box. I keep a flat head screw driver, various brushes, most of them trimmed but some not. I like mac brushes. I have a couple of rags, a can of thinner, some of those bathroom disposable cups (make sure you have the wax lined ones-learned that the hard way) a various ***ortment of 1 shots, an old hanes manual for an acura (found it, thats what I mix on-pages are thicker than a phonebook) I can't remember the name right now but those pencils that are water soluable, some razor blades, and a quart of ATF-an old tyme stripper I knew told me to oil the brushes with ATF, works great for me. Nothing painted on the box though, not worth any pics.

I use a box that folds out tacklebox-style as well. Its made of some kind of corrugated aluminum, so I havent painted on it much. In it is just the usual ***ortment of 1-shot, lacquer thinner, UR-50 reducer, and an old magazine to palette on. As for brushes I got three or four Mack sword stripers, 0 to 000, and a couple old off-brand lettering brushes.

Any body used the Little Daddy Roth pinstriping enamel? Thinking about picking up three or four half pints of it in colors that one shot doesn't have. Also, I just picked up some new MACK 10 Series SWORD STRIPERS in 00, 0, and 1 for my VERY FIRST SET and I'm SUPER EXCITED.

Now THAT'S the way it oughta be! I like trying to wear 'em out! :D

I have a cool old box that an old sign-painter friend of mine gave me many years ago. R.I.P. Milton Rhoades!

The box is full of One-Shot, Macks, Excaliburs, Greys and Brown quills. A few years ago, I started having some of my friends sling a little of their striping on it. Thanks Killer D, L.A. & Gary Mizar.

I'll hafta post some pics later

it's also on a thread about kits on the HAMB'stripers social group you posted to earlier today, welcome, BTW. Lots of good info there.

All u need to get good is a lot of coffee, some beer, and get rid of the woman nagging at u to give her some of yer time. u need to do it four a couple hours a day. Ull catch on quicker and becomes less and less frustrating. U can never practice enough at this. Its not like changing oil.
